Tomato is rich in vitamin c. It is good for the skin and to our digestion. My mother used to slice a tomato and scrub it on my skin when I was a kid. She said that it is to make my skin soft and fair. She used to told me too that it is a fruit but I learned from the school that it belongs to the group of vegetables. Is tomato a fruit or a vegetable?

From a botanist point of view, tomato is a fruit. But to some it is vegetables. So far, it depends on how you believe it is it. But for me I wish to just call it it a fruit vegetable. What is important is it is a very healthy stuff so I consume a lot of it.
Starting with the basics, tomatoes contain large amounts of vitamin C. They also contain vitamin A, potassium, and iron.
The red pigment contained in tomatoes is called lycopene which is an antioxidant, neutralizing free radicals that can damage cells in the body. Only recently, studies have revealed that lycopene may have twice the punch of another well-known antioxidant betacarotene and therefore this is very good in fighting cancer.

Tomato is a fruit.
Anything bearing seeds is definitely a fruit. That's just how it is. People consider it a vegetable, just like cucumbers. But both are fruits. They produce seeds and are fruits.
Tomato... is a fruit.

Tomato is considered a vegetable. It is always categorized in vegetables in most things or places, and found by the veggies in grocery stores.
A tomato, however, is actually a fruit. I guess the main reason is that it has seeds, and fruits produce seeds, not veggies. Which makes me wonder what a cucumber is... hmmm.. I guess that would be a fruit too?
