Once dynamic websites were brought into web developers conversation, there are only three popular web development tools for programming are mentioned. These three popular languages are php, asp and jsp. I have read comments and discussion on several websites, differentiating the three web programming languages however, i would like to ask opinion/s coming from my fellow mylotters. I will suggest that ONLY experienced programmers of asp, jsp and php must discuss the topic. I haven't used jsp and asp, so i am seeking for pieces of advise from people who experienced using the said languages. I really hope you can give ideas/background for newbies like me. ü

Web programming languages. Can basicly do the same now a days. The only difference is the syntax, so it's up to people, which syntax they like the most. But, PHP is open source, which means that's it free to begin using, where when usign asp many times you need a windows server which is costly. Because of the licencing. But If you are new to programming, I would choose PHP because it's very close to normal english.. No one else than yourself can decide which programming language that is best to start out with!

Yes, you were right with your opinion that the only difference with these web programming languages is their syntax, yet i want to know the "lacking syntax" of each web programming languages which is present on other languages. May i ask if you noticed some limitations of these programs? Maybe you can include examples or code fragments to let others(those who will read) see and understand the difference/s. Thanks for your response. I appreciate it.ü

Hi sleuth, Each of these technologies offers powerful server-side scripting that enables you to create a dynamic web pages. Php and jsp can be installed in any architecture that is we can use it both windows and Linux platforms but asp only working in windows platform. jsp heavily object oriented programming and php is oop rather new
