This past weeks a part of me likes to give up mylot and the other side of me don't. I've been here for so long and so it's hard for me to just suddenly stop. I may not be permanently logging to this site but when I get the chance to use the internet I absolutely be found logging on this site. It's my outlet to my life angst and mylot really helps me to somehow ease the burden I am carrying through my fellow mylotters. How about you? Does it reached to your mind to give up mylot?

hello sheenmadness! There are times that I really felt like giving up here. But when I started to be active again, I really love it here. I made many friends and try to answer to their discussion as many as I can so that I can gaing their trust on me and their loyalty to me. Just enjoy your stay here. Try to make a close friend as many as you can who will remain loyal to you.

I would have to be crazy or insane or both to give up mylot on my own. I am earning something which I have not done in my other online activities. I enjoy the discussions and it is icing on the cake when I get paid. Cheers!!

It has not reached my mind to leave myLot yet even though certain things are niggling in my mind.
The first is the repetitions that can be found here, both in discussions and responses. This reminds me of the first discussion site I joined in the year 2000. Even though similar discussions and responses could not be avoided, some of them are too similar. Unfortunately I cannot give any proof because I did not make any notes.
The second is the presence of abusive or narrow minded people. It is easy to find them in certain Interests. This made me a little bit uneasy. We are supposed to have discussions, not arguments. I think if we are unable to have civilised discussions on the Internet where we remain anonymous behind our nicknames, we can never have meaningful discussions in the real world.
The third is burnout. Reading discussion topics and responses, and posting discussions and responses put a strain on the brain. Being too involved can lead to neglect of health, which in turn affects the brain.
I put these niggling thoughts as challenges. I think I will be around for a long time on myLot.

Yes, there can be repetition. (myLot has been around since 2000? How did I only just NOW discover it?) Anyway. There can definitely be a lot of similar Discussions per day. I have tended to avoid the heated topics, so I have probably not experienced much of the narrow-mindedness and arguments. But, I know how back it can get from other sites. Yes, some people definitely lose their civility. And, you are SO right about burnout. Sometimes I just feel exhausted and I don't want to do it anymore! But then I feel like I HAVE to be here! So, yes, it can be quite stressful! You have described the situation quite well!
