How many people know the story ebhind The Taj? Know what its macde out of, seen close ups of it? I just watched a documentary on it, and it is simply amazing. It is dedicated to the wife of a past ruler, and made completely of white marble, carved and inset with tons and tons of valuable stones, all carved to make flowers and other beautiful things. The gardens that surround The Taj suggest the ruler planned the site specifically according to Gods thrones plan in religious documents. Regardless, this place is gorgeous. There are also suggestions that the ruler tried to build an exact replica in all black marble for himself paralelling it, but the cost was way too much.

Hi.
Yes I have heard a lot about it. It is really famous here in India and most of Indians know about it.
Not only the cost of the black tomb was affordable but the time required was also not feasible. It took 20 years for the white one to complete.
The marble you are talking about was brought from Rajasthan, which is quite far off from the site on camels.
The most unlikable thing in the whole setup is its end. Emperor Shahjahan, who built the Taj, ordered to cut the hands of all 20000 workers who worked on Taj, so nothing like it can be recreated again.
Hats off to hi love
