Man i just installed Linux ubuntu this morning and so far so good, but i must tell you that i'm totally not sure about the security it offer, i mean I've heard that you do not need anti-virus when browsing on Linux and I'm just curious about the whole thing So far i can connect and browse the net like any other OS. One thing though i think this OS is bit difficult, especially when it comes to the points where you need to use commands on certain instances. At first i didn't know how will i connect to the net because i always use mobile modem to connect to the net and to my surprise i couldn't install the phone's software to get things started here, but because i hate being a failure i looked almost everywhere to get all the necessary information and yes, now i can connect with ease. Maybe you know something about the security it has, want to share?

I use Linux on two of my computers, the third uses Windows because my children want to play the games on it, and there is a larger choice for windows. As for me, I am always using Linux, I use Mandriva 2009 on the Desktop and Puppy Linux on the older Laptop, and so far, can't complain about either. Both run smoother, faster and safer than the Windows machine, even though that is a better spec. I will always use Linux without hesitation.

I used linux before in my last job. I use it for radius proxy authentication, MRTG, squid proxy, and PostgreSQL database. And a FreeBSD box for transparent firewall with load balancing.
