is christmas as stressful for others as it is for me?

i love christmas. it is my favorite time of year. but it has become so stressful, that all the real meaning seems to have gotten pushed to the back. it has become all about the dollar and not about the true meaning. i have kids and yes, we do gifts and santa, but i also make sure i let them know what the true meaning of christmas is. i just hate that it is so commercial and it makes me sad that its so stressful trying to fit it all in. any suggestions on how to slow down and just remember ehat its all about.

As senior citizens with 4 grown sons, my wife and I were finding Christmas increasingly stressful, so we bought an RV, and went south to warmer climes for the Christmas season. Of course the cry from home was enormous. How unfair for the parents to be away at Christmas! And where will we go for Christmas Dinner? After a few years the cries diminished and now all is Quiet on the Western Front!

well you know, we also have a new RV and i dont think it would hurt my feelings at all to just pile me, my husband and two kids in that thing and go enjoy each other and enjoy the time together. enjoy your holidays and thanks for the idea.
