Mary or Martha

I was just wondering who you would consider yourself to be more like? Mary or Martha? Be honest in your evaluation. I will say that I am more like Mary because I much prefer to sit and listen than to busy myself with other things to keep me from looking at what God is saying to me. Don't get me wrong though I definately have my Martha moments.

i would say that sometimes I am more of Martha.busy with everything, not putting God first.But God did not always allow me to stay that way...He restores me and make me lie down in green pastures as it was said on His words (Ps.23).I think we had been like Martha in someway but by His grace He will draws us back again, just like Mary...

I am more of a martha too. i just couldnt sit and not expect the guest to be served, but then I might listen before I would jump up - ha!

I have a policy in my house that you should make yourself at home and that my home is available. I guess I'm not a real private person so maybe that makes a difference. I do like to serve though and when I am doing a special thing I do not really want help. Maybe Jesus was trying to get us to understand the difference between works and grace in this story. Do you think that is a possibility?
