I am considering buying a cell phone, and I need to know a few things first...
1) What brand would you buy and why?
2) What is the best plan to get for a single college student.
#) What sort of price figure are we looking at in a month.

Just responding to your question of what type of cell phone. I'm not sure where you are, but you can go to www.bhohner.acnrep.com to get some ideas. There is a vareity of phones, plans to choose from at great prices. There is even Blackberry, IPOD, etc.If you aren't going to use this [phone a lot then I would suggest get a free phone and a small plan.
Any cell phone is a matter of choice, and then the plan you choose is basically limited to your budget. I have one that can download music, text (letters on the numbers for easier use), take pictures and all kinds of stuff, however the Plan that I have on it is JUST $20 month Canadain, and all I wanted to do with this phone was to make calls for convience.I am not using it as a main phone - so I wanted the most for the least, and I have probably 100 minutes, and no they don't accumulate. But that is OK - I don't need a lot of minutes, lucky to use the ones I do have.
Hope I helped.

First off thanks for the comment...I would just get a small " pay for minute " phone, but I would need the internet hotspot thing on phone, and i will check out the site thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by "hotspot", unless you are refering to the Blackberry .... guess I'm just not up on those things.LOL
However , if you just want to communicate to your parents, then I would suggest the video phone family plan. Your parents would probably like this one , they get the primary phone and then send they you the secondary phone, so you can now see each other and call each other unlimited, these phones run on the internet - so obviously you have a connection. The second, third etc video phone can be sent anywhere in the world and is now a straight connection to any other video phone unlimited for less then $20 /month Canadian.($15 and $13 US)
Only the primary phone can be transferred to the origional number and is then a regular phone for local calling as well. These phones include 3-way, caller ID, etc.
There is a cell phone you can get for $40/month to just talk and that gives you US and Canadian minutes.Again you pick the phone and extra features - texting , music , pictures, email etc. I'm sure would all be extra, just depends what you wnat to do with the phone. Most companies will charge for all the toys .....
