I believe that many factors combine to create the initial attraction to a certain person and that having some additional ones that are important to you play a role in whether that attraction turns to love. I was initially attracted to my husband because he made me laugh and he poked fun at himself so he seemed to be a very down to earth person. He was also physically attractive, so those first impressions were enough for me to be interested. As I learned more about him, how dedicated he had been to his late wife of 34 years, how he had worked hard to build a business and a good reputation, I saw more traits that I admired and those attracted me to him even more.
