I am 18 and Aging is scary. I always thot that once your old you can get a job do whatever you want but from seeing how my parents struggle it seems so hard getting started being first generation americans, I think once im old I ll look back at the days I play sports like it was nothing and regret evrything I didn't do but they say everything happens for a reason so you gotta let it flow.

A couple of points I wouldlike to make here. One is that I am already getting old but age really is just a number and it is how we live our life that is more important. Another is that given the choice between getting old and now getting there at all is not really something that I want to consider. So I have to say that for me the thought of not getting older is not really something that I want to consider for at least another 40 or so years. lol
There are some people who are only in their 30's but their attitude to life literally screams "old", whereas we have a friend who is 89 and one of the "youngest" people I know. Sure he is not in perfect health but he does walk most days and eats good nutritious food but it is his whole attitude to lfe that makes him young.
If I have any worries about the passing years it is that for some reason I might have to quit my well paid job before we have paid off our small farm. That would seriously affect our retirement becasue when that time comes we would like to be debt free. That would allow us to still grow our organic fruit and vegetables but not such a large area as we do now. With a debt, we would need to plant a larger area and that is not something that we want to be doing in our 70's.

I am terrified of getting older. Birthdays only make me sad now that I am 43. I also don't know what I will do when my children are grown. My life has been so defined by them. I fear many things about getting old. I didn't think that we were going to have worry about finances in our old age, now this whole financial crises has lost our profit sharing retirement accounts thousands and thousands of dollars. Years of savings lost in a few weeks. They say it will eventually come back, but there is no guarantee of that. I am sure there will be some good things about getting older, but right now it just scares me.

iam not looking forward to it at all age is something on the back burner,i love my grand child but i don,t want to have to get older for him to get older but i know it,s going to happen.another reason all the ache and pain that goes with getting old.thank god iam not house bound i keep pretty active even though you have ache and pain. what make me afraid of getting old is maybe having to depend on someone if i got where i couldn,t care for my self.and the thought of your children having to care for you is even scary.

I guess as long as I feel well and have energy, I don't really mind. I know it gets harder but I try to keep up with diet and exercise and mental exercise as well to stay sharp and focused. Fortunately, I've been blessed with good health and am pretty active. I just turned 49 and don't look or feel it. I'm grateful for good genes and I'll keep trying to live a healty active life. I've noticed though that my husband is getting grumpier with age so, I try to stay extra cheerful so I don't become a grouch too.

I have pondered this question in my own head from time to time. I am a little afraid of growing older however when I recently reached the age of forty I started having a little different of a perspective in life.
There have been many experiences I have had. With age it is possible to become more wise.
Of course there are more aches and pains to deal with but I can handle it. I just need to get more exercise.
It is a little scary to think of not being able to do as many things as I could when I was younger. Getting older can really take a toll on someone's mind and body. But I am somewhat looking forward to an older age where I can enjoy grandchildren if they do come along hopefully.
I still have a little five year old boy at home.

As of now I am in the middle of my age and years goes by I am in the last stage of my life. I am not afraid of getting old and those negatives expectations when become old, I was ready for that. Speaking of readiness just preparing for my eternal life. My health care not so much because I am an average earner and other preparations not much. My own reason is I will leave it to God. But trying to prepare as long as i can. About my activities just stay cool.

When I was a kid, I want to grow up more quickly. As growing up means more independence. Now, I am 25 years old. I hope that I can get older more slowly.
At the moment, I have not enough time for me to reach what I want. I am not strong enough to face the challenge. The life's pressure make me burned out.

I may say Yes, I look forward to getting older because it means i'll be alive for a couple of years more so I can see my son finish school, get employed, be successful and have a family of his own...be there when he needs me. On the other hand, I don't want to get old, because my mom who is now 82 years old, lives with me. I love her very dearly and I want myself to be able to constantly take of her and provide her needs. I worry because I'm getting old myself...

I am still unmarried and i can feel that i am already getting older. I know i am young but i feel like i m going to get old very soon. I am just afraid of losing my loved ones. Parents, family, partner, friends...you start losing them one by one as your age increases. That is all i am afraid of.

I am getting there whether I look forward to it or not.. So far, I have been Blessed with fairly decent health and I am still very active, but my husband is having quite a few health issues.. I don't mind getting older, I just wish the economy hadn't taken a turn for the worse, as now we don't even have time to worry about any of the other issues, we have to worry extra hard about the money issues.. I am enjoying the not having to go to work, and being able to do the work that I choose to do and when I choose to do it, I like that kind of freedom.. I do hope that I don't get housebound as I have never really stayed home an entire day in my life, unless I was sick in bed, I have always went out to work or got out of the house for some reason or the other, so I am not a stay at home person.. The normal aches and pains that I have are very few, so I am enjoying this part of aging but never know what is in store for me in the future.. Good luck to you in your aging process, hope all good things come your way for the rest of your life..

I'm 45 and really enjoy being in my 40's.
I'm not really a cold person so I do look forward to when the children can take themselfs to school and home again so I can stay inn the warm.
I can already see myself sitting in the armchair with the blanket over my knees thinking about the old days.

I do. At last in some way. Because in a few years I will (hopefully) have a lot of things that simply belong to a normal life. Like a great job, good home, etc.
Also, I most probably will only do my job, come home and rest for a few hours until I go to bed and do the same thing over and over again until I get bored of it. :/
