I've been unemployed since June. I've been living off of 111.00 a week from unemployment and trust me people it's not fun.
I have looked long and hard to get a job. I applied at every place in my town, I've went out of town to apply for jobs and I've even used sites like monster, snag a job and hotjobs to apply online for jobs.
All that hard work and all i ever got was one interview (which i thought went well) and still go no job. I got so desperate that i even started looking for work at home jobs..which are hard to come by.
I did a search on Yahoo Hotjobs for an online assistant position and there was only one available. So i applied on Hotjobs and to make it even better i emailed an introduction letter to the contact that was listed.
I told them a little about myself, why i would be good for the job and what qualifications i had.
Finally today i got an e-mail congratulating me and an offer for the position.
Not sure how its going to go but i'm hoping it will get me by better than unemployment has. I still plan on looking for a job out of the home, but this is a start for me.
I'm actually happy for the first time in months since i lost my job :)

So what is your position? Are you still employed by this company?

Congratulations! It must be a huge relief to have a job that is sure to pay more than what you've been getting. I hope all goes well for you.
I have been as yet unable to find something viable to do from home. I would have to find childcare for my toddler for most of the opportunities I've found, which defeats the purpose. Oh, well. Here's to your success. With any luck, I'll follow soon.

Congrats on the job I think that it is a great start for you- Good for you. I have heard my entire life that writing that intro letter autmatically puts you in the front of the line and it seems to have worked wonders for you.
Keep us posted and again Congrats!

Well done on getting a job, I'm sure you will do really well.
I work from home and its really good not having to travel to and from work in the cold etc.
I'll pm you and you can tell me all about your job and if I could do it from the UK.

oh!!! congratulations for getting a job. I am also looking for a work from home job. I resigned from my job 2 months ago because of pressures from my boss. I can;t take it anymore. I thought of maybe dying early if I will continue working in that company. Now I am stying home and it's hard for our income to have both ends meet.
Only hubby is working and we have kids in school plus our monthly bills. I wish I could find a job also that is home based. What kind of job did you have now?

Well, I must say congratulations. Getting an online job that you can do at home is really very hard to do. It's like looking for a needle under a haystack. But if it is really for you, you will find it. Make your best out of your found job. I also have an online job and I work as a virtual assistant. I've been already working for many months and the pay is good. I never thought that I can get a job like this one as I came from full time employment on a prestigious company. But I need to sacrifice and give up the job for my kids. God was so good to me and I hope I retain this job for years and so do you. Goodluck!
