I sometimes do it as a form of greeting other people. But on my friends and people closed to me, of course it's the real thing.

I beleive people do it just to be curtious. Personally some days I could care less and some days I really want to know depending on who the person is. I guess it depends on the mood. But I sometimes try to stray away from being rude so I ask how are you doing today LOL

It depends on kind of people we meet. ifwe meet very close friends and relatives then they definately mean it!! And if we meet some distant friends and relatives then they might say that for just filling up the formality

its really hard to tell but when it comes to family and friends the line is still alittle shakey if you ask me cause some relatives or friends my hold some deep grudge or something maybe some happened to you that was good and not to them they felt you didnt deserve it there are many factors that come into play in determining whether or not someone is truly concerned for your well being.....of course MOMS going alwqays be concerned thats a given

Sometimes it is by concern and sometimes some poeple just want to be polite. It really depends who you are meeting if they are close friends or just someone you know. But mostly it is a part of the conversation of two person. When you don't know what to say first when meeting someone, you always say that well we all always say that on a start of the talk. It's no big deal for us to think hey are they saying that because they are concern? Whatever it is for them, still we have to be happy they want to know how are you doing.

I think people just say it to be polite. I think it also depends on the person your talking to if they really are concerned or not. Some people probably do it to start conversation or realize someone needs to talk to people others do it to be polite and just think its the thing to ask.
