I've never tried selling things on Ebay. I looked into it once, but there seemed to be lots of costs involved, so it made me think again because it would have meant that I'd have been out of pocket if my things didn't sell. (I'm so risk-averse, lol!) You obviously had some success there if you've done it before and want to do it again, and you're right to be doing some research about what kind of things are selling well. I think it seems like a risky thing to go into without finding out some information first. Good luck!

well if you just put in something for sale under 10 dollars its only 25 cents unless you add on extra pictures or bold writing etc.. i just do the basics and then they get a little percentage of the amount sold.. but im selling stuff i have either had so long that its gonna be pure profit or things i found so cheap that it wlll still make enough worth while

Well 25 cents doesn't sound too bad, and depending on what percentage they take if it sells, I can see that it might be worth doing. It's good that you're able to make a good profit on the things that you sell. We have lots of things around the house that we don't use, so maybe one day I'll give it a go!

i just looked it up and omg they have raised them a lot higher than when i sold on there before!! but if you do things right you will still make money on things and thats whats important.. i think it said it was like 8% and up depending on what it was.. i think it was like 3 or 6 when i did it.. grrr.. oh well.. i dont trust any other sites to deal with

yeah i screwed myself last time because i was on a roll and sold a ton of stuff steady then i kept listing things the same speed and it just STOPPED and nothing sold and i was stuck with all those listings and im like oh crap!!! so i stoppped for awhile for other reasons too and now i have gotten several things for free recently or had some things long enough to where i feel it would be only profit since i just didnt go buy the stuff to resell.. i try to sell things i have already to begin with since some times hunting down things are a pain in itself.. its like the stock market.. you never know what or when anythings gonna happen.. ive sold things for like 60 bucks when i paid 17 for it then barely broke even on other things

Oh? What was it you were selling previously?
I have been trying very hard to try and get something to sell on the internet. Especially on ebay. But till now I cannot find the right product to sell.
I read a lot about people doing research to get a niche. But I have no idea how to do it.
I have been monitoring the ebay site, but I still cannot catch the trick to recognize a niche product.
Can you share a few tips with me? I am really looking forward to selling on ebay to make some side income. But am having trouble doing it. I would be really grateful if you can send me a few pointers and mentor me on what to look out for.
Please advise.

Anything would sell on ebay as long as you set a low starting price for your item. Buyers love good deals no question about that. No matter how good your item though if it's not cheaper than they are at stores it's not gonna sell and this is why I usually get more money out of selling old designer clothes and used designer handbags on ebay. I could only sell items on ebay now if I got them for free, or bought them with coupons, got them from 70% off sale, or got them from a discount outlet. Other than that I'd rather not sell cause it's not worth it. Ebay gets all the money!

i just checked out how much they have raised their fees and omg they are a lot higher than i remember!! and yeah its not worth it if you are trying to sell it for the same price.. which it why i sold a lot of stuff i would pick up from yard sales that looked brand new but cost barely anything lol

Ok any inanimate object that you claim to see Jesus or the Virgin Mary in will typically sell well on e-bay. Corn Flakes, Guitars, shirts with stains, burnt toast whatever. I personally check every piece of toast before I eat it just to make sure I don't ruin a fortune.
Other than that, it is usually stuff that is a good deal.

i always wonder about the food that looks like the virgin mary etc and why people buy it when its just going to decay and rot..

Eventually everything decays, but if you have the cash to fork out for Virgin Mary toast, you can probably afford to have it vacume sealed.

i would resell things i would get through discount catelogs and if i found new stuff at yard sales etc then i would sell that.. its crazy because if you know what to sell then you can go into good areas for yard sales where rich people are that buy a whole bunch of crap and never use it and practically give it away and you can buy it and turn it around for a lot of money.. i had gotten out of it because it was too time consuming and they shipping prices switched and went up but i have a few things that i am gonna test the waters with because even with the shipping rates being higher i should still clear money on them..
