Can anyone else hold their cat like a baby? My one cat cotton let's me hold him like a baby all the time. It is so adorable he will just lay there and i will pet him it is the cutest. He is always laying on his back when he is just laying on the floor or on my bed. Does anyone else's cats allow you to hold them like this?

My cat rarely lets me hold him like a baby. However, the past few months, he will wake in my arms on most mornings. I absolutely love it...I think it reassures me that does love and trust his momma!!! Two summers ago, after I had been hospitalized for a break down, ever since I came home after that, he insists on laying between my arms when I at the computer when he gets the chance. If I'm especially doing homework, though, I can't let him do that. It is the sweetest thing in the world to me. He has become more of lap cat over the past year too. Too bad he won't let my family and friends get close to him, but that's usually the case with a cat...a cat is typically a one person cat. Strange, isn't it?

Well I am glad you are better and that your cat makes you feel better. I think they know when something is wrong they just have that instinct. When out one cat was in the emergency room Cotton was around the house all depressed. That is how our cats are the boy is mainly around me and the girl is mainly around my sister. When people are over Cotton the boy wont go near them he hides out kitty LOVES people and will be all over them. it is so funny to see their different personality's. And with the spelling thing I am pretty sure that happens to me also i will re read and check to see if something is wrong and then when it gets posted stuff will be miss spelled maybe its just me not be careful I dunno.

Cats are really different than dogs, even with more than one cat, each one has its own 'person'. Yet, a dog loves more than one person. Someone that's not used to cats or whatever don't understand why the cat, or my cat, doesn't like them, so to speak.

I know good and well I didn't misspell anything on that comment, but it somehow messed it up anyway.

Nope, not really. Our babycat doesnt want to be carried like a baby. However, I can carry him like his paws would be on my shoulder. She likes it a lot. She's not a lap cat either. But she's getting there.

I hold my cat like that, too. I'm the only one he will allow to do it, though. He's not generally a really affectionate cat, but he does like to sit on my lap when I am on the computer. Everywhere else though, he would rather sit beside me or just in the same room and not cuddle.

LOL yeah he only lets me hold him like that also. My sister gets so mad also because he is her cat and he won't let her hold him. Is that your cat in your picture? If so that is how cotton looks I think your cat has a little more white on his face though. What a cutie pie. He is always on me though always rubbing against me and everything. I love him though.

Our bottle baby, Oliver, will crawl into our arms and then flip over. He just TRUSTS we won't let him fall! Generally we won't, if we realize that he's going to do it before he rolls and falls! After he's over, he'll lay there so long as we don't touch his tummy. We can scratch his chest, but no lower. He's clam happy that way so long as we stay away from the tummy.

My cat likes to sit in my lap, be petted, and she sleeps on my bed every night but she doesn't let me hold her like that. She's a little skittish so maybe she gets uncomfortable not being able to see what's going on? or i think maybe she just doesn't like lying that way...not really sure but she can't stand it, just jumps right out of my arms. Otherwise she's very affectionate though!

I think my cat just doesn't mind laying like that he lays on his back on the floor and on my bed. Maybe that is why he lets me hold him like that.
