Driving home from work I heard a radio commercial that got me thinking, how do I relax after a stressful day? When I was commuting for 45 minutes I found the drive home let me process and dump many of the problems from work, but that was not really relaxing. The more I thought about it the more convinced I became that I was luck in that I could name several ways that I relieved stress. I find walking and listening to a good book to be relaxing. Playing with my grandchildren also relaxes me. I very much enjoy photography and can lose my self in a photographing a sporting event. These are some of the things that help me to relax on a day to day basis. When I thought about it more how do I rejuvenate myself over a longer time period, rather than on a day to day basis? What is it that I can turn to, to get my life back into balance?
I will respond later but first I would like to hear from you, How do you get your life back into balance?

There are a many different ways that I reduce stress..I meditate everyday..I love to get lost in a good book or movie...but what really sings to my soul is spending time in nature...walking among the trees...listening to a stream as it gently flows across the pebbles...hearing the birds as they sing happily back and forth....watching the squirrels catch each other around the yard...sitting on the front porch in the evening...watching the deer jump the fence to graze on the grass in the yard..enjoying the wind blowing through my hair...feeling the sun as it warms my skin, filling me with its life giving energies...
So much of my life is spent in the hectic mode of being a wife, a mother, a grandmother..for me....reducing stress has come to mean...enjoying the simpler things in life again..
