Everybody wants money, the economy is bad, plants are closing, people are being laid off right and left. Why can't someone somewhere, help us just a little. We need help not increases on the bill statement.

This is what I got in the mail (we are making some changes to ensure your auto coverage meets the minimum state financial responsibility requirements.
The Alabama state legislature has passed Senate Bill 4, which raises the minimum liability limits from:)[/i]
I know you can't answer this question I am just venting. This is very depressing and disappointing. I can't pay the premium the way it is how can I pay with an increase.
That's probably not the end of it I haven't been to mailbox today.
Have you gotten an increase on any of your bill statements lately?

Financial heads say that Lay Offs ate inevitable .The situation is very bad, and whom to blame ? When we get a very high salary we are proud and we end up committing to new life style, with out proper investments. But another side of this down fall is, expect a fall i all prices also, house rent , commodities , food etc. Until the situations is bright we need to have many eyes all arround .

Yes it is getting bad for us too. Our electric bill has nearly doubled in the past couple of months. Still trying to figure that one out! Groceries are going through the roof, to the point where I have resorted to clipping coupons again! The only thing not going up is wages! Thankfully, the gas prices are down to what we used to pay over 4 years ago, but how long will it last?
Unfortunatly, I think it will get much worse before it gets any better.

u are right . everything keeps going up. only thing around here that has gone down is gas. they are raising our garbage bill on account of gas being so high. they are looking for any excuse to raise everything. groceries are outrageous.

Oddly enough, a lot of ours have actually gone down. Gas is lower than it has been in a year and my vehicle insurance drops annually. Our mortgage went down .4% recently and it's well under 5%. Our electric bill is now tiered so you pay less up until a certain usage. We even got a notice that our heating bill will drop by about $100 + a year.
I don't know if we're just very lucky to live where we do or if it's just the companies we deal with but I'm glad that these big expenses have gone down. Especially since other things like food are going crazy. But it almost feels like the calm before the storm, so hopefully things don't just explode!

Its hard when we are all in the same boat. I agree with you. Especially with the holidays just around the corner. The only bright spot to be seen is that gas prices have come down.

Hello, thankfully I don't have so many bills to deal with right now that it's giving me problems. I'm still unemployed sort of so I depend on my parents for most of my day to day expenses. I guess it'll be a lot harder for me when I grow up. :( It's true though that the economy is very bad. Good thing I already signed with a company because they're laying off a lot of workers now!

Yes, I was laid off from my job five months ago, and haven't been able to find another one yet, it is hard with everyone else looking for employment at the same time. There are only so many jobs.
My rent went up, as well as my car insurance, I expected it because my insurance is through AIG. I since have switched insurance companies.
My credit card bills have increased for the minimum payments and interest as well. It seems like a no win situation, when you do not have the money to pay the bills at the amounts they were, then they are increased, makes no sense to me.

The thing that angers me is credit card debt. I know I'm at fault for my debt, but how do the credit card companies expect anyone in a financial bind to get out of debt when they raise the APR to close to 30%? That's usury and shouldn't be allowed. What I'd love is for all financial institutions to have to observe a jubilee year like the nation of Israel had during Biblical times. Correct me if I'm wrong, but during a jubilee year all debts were forgiven.

I don't know what is happening in Alabama but I'll tell you that the gas prices up here in Canada are at a low.
They are fifty cents a litre less than what they were a year ago and it is almost hard to believe.
I haven't seen anything else going down so far although the electronics that I purchase do seem much better than when I was a kid.
I live month to month so any way I can save a few bucks is just fine with me.
Crocket.

I am with you here. My internet connection sent an email that this month they are going to increase the connection fees. from $29.95 to 34.95. That's $5 more. I hope nothing would follow soon.

I honestly don't know. My husband mentioned something about the electric bill being $20.00 more than last month's bill, but that could be due to the fact that we've had the heat on more this past month because it's been so cold outside.
The only thing I've noticed is that gas prices are way down! As of yesterday, the price of the low grade gasoline was $1.77 per gallon at the station closest to our house. I couldn't believe it! Just a few months ago it was $4.06 per gallon!!!
So, if you add up how much gas you use each month, that's quite a lot of savings! It offsets any increases in anything else, at least in our case, it does.
Have you shopped around for auto insurance? They seem to be very competitive these days and are trying harder and harder to get more business.
I had moved once from the city to the county. Rates are always higher in the city so I expected mine to come down. They didn't... they went UP! I was paying $900.00 a year in the city and when I moved to the county, this same insurance company wanted $1,200.00 a year! They claimed it was because I was in a high-risk area. I told them that I was NOT a high-risk driver but that didn't matter to them.
So, I looked around and found car insurance for $600.00 a year! Same area, same car, same coverage, same everything but only half the price! It's definitely worth looking around. I know that a lot of the websites of insurance companies will give you a comparison of prices between different insurance companies. I know that Progressive Insurance does that because that's what my son has.
I forgot your age but, if you're over 50 you can join AARP for only $12.50 a year and get some really great benefits, including a low rate car insurance from The Hartford, I believe.
Good luck to you!
