Do you think that the Sims is a girly game?

My brothers, all though they play it as well, say that the Sims(and expansions) is a girly game. It isn't a shoot and kill game, so I suppose it isn't really "manly". But still. Does anyone else think this?

I love the Sims and I'm a 33 yr old man. With me it's more of a control thing I guess...I can't seem to control my own life very well, but I can mold and shape my Sims lives however I see fit. I suppose I'm living vicariously thru my Sims...lol

That's great! I think I tend to live through my sims a little too...I can have them do things I would never do. And I can just plain mess with them. :)

I consider it a unisex game but I think more women play then men and most men consider it a "girl" game. My husband likes to play. At first he didn't think he would like it but once he saw me playing he got hooked. If I have the game running and walk away he will go to his own town and play some of his own sims. He's 30 now. But he plays differently then I do. I like to spend time building houses and I have families that breed like rabbits. I love the challenge of large families. He just tries to get his sims to the top of their careers. Sometimes they have kids but he always loses interest after that because babies are hard, lol.

No. There might be more girls playing it, i dont know. But just because girls play a game, dont mean its a girly game, i think. I think it have gotten this term because its maybe the first game that have gotten girsl attention. Which is a good thing i think.

I don't think it's girly. My son likes to play it (but he is only 9). Incidentally, the first time I played, DHS took my baby from me because it was naked on the front lawn while my house was burning. Hey, at least it wasn't IN the house!

I don't think it is. But I know it is pretty much like playing with a big doll house, but I really don't think of it as a "girls" game.

I originally bought the game for my son because he wanted it. I guess he was about 15. But once I figured it out, I kind of took over. He moved out and I kept the game. I like controlling the people too. I know guys play it but I think more girls play it. But I wouldn't call it girly.
