I feel like my doctor is treating me like a lab rat. He tells me if this doesn't work then we'll try this and so on. How many medications do I have to take to find one that works? Anybody know or have a positive experience with any mood stablizers? Which ones should I avoid?

i know of someone who is on prozac and seroquel. it seems to work for her. there were some other medicines that didn't work for her before. trying out combinations of medicines applies to all kinds of illness. each person has a different reaction. what works for one doesn't mean that it will work for another.

Lithium, Depakoat, Lamictal, Abilify, Neurontin, any other anti-convulsants, Seroquel is an anti-psychotic but some use it as a mood stabilizer. Your docotor is not treating you like a lab rat, thats how medications are in psychophramacology its a hit and miss... Its how it always was with medications. Its very frustrating...

Well for depression, medicines are not solution. Do Meditation, try breathing exercise, it will help you balance and handle depression.
