Maybe because:
1. you're getting old
2. you need to see an optalmologist
3. you're still using a CRT monitor
4. you're monitor needs fine tuning
5. you're monitor is not getting enough ventilation
6. you're too near your monitor or
7. the lights are causing a glare

Yeah. . .my eyes hurt when I'm on the computer for a long time and I sometimes get headaches too. In fact, I get the same effect when I'm playing videogames or watching something on my iPod. Staring at anything bright for a long time hurts my eyes lol, but its not as bad as staring at the sun since it doesn't give off heat nor those dangerous UV rays.

I get headaches at times too. Although I'm going to start taking breaks, I may consider seeing an ophthalmologist.

Yes, my eyes hurt, but I know that it is becomes sometimes I overuse them. As we all know anything that is exaggerated is not good specially when it comes to our body usually the eyes. I start my work at seven in the morning then I finish usually around five pm and that entails full time computer use. I read a lot of exercises and suggestions to let my eyes rest every thirty to an hour use of the eyes but sometimes I am really into my work that I forget to do that. Sometimes also, especially during hot weather, I just go to the bathroom and take a bath after long hours of working on my computer. I guess it's not that good. As for the headache, maybe you should go to an opthalmologist and check your eyes if you already have some eye grades as they call that. I remember when I was a student I had astigmatism because of too much reading.

I believe I do overuse my eyes. I work on my computer from 9-6 (I take an hour lunch break and 2 15 min breaks but aside from that I'm always on my computer) nonstop. I think I should start to take time away from the screen from time to time.

Yes my eyes pain when looking at the computer continuously for a long time.
It necessary to take break while sitting on computer and some healthy food which is helpful for our eyes.

My eyes get strained sometimes. It's cause of electromagnetic radiation coming from our monitors. We should really remember to blink once in awhile while reading something on our screen. Staring at our monitors could lead to dry eyes and poor vision.

I'm going to start blinking more and taking more breaks from the monitor. Thanks a lot.

It is most likely to be because your eyes are getting dry as a result of being in front of the screen for so long. You definitely need to remember to blink more, as silly as that may sound. In addition, are you wearing contact lenses - this can make it worse and you may find that working with glasses on hurts less.
