how many ways of writing songs

I been writing songs for a while and wondered did a songwriter ever had a type of style of writing? I always wrote rhyming every two lines (aabbcc) then a chorus. Is there any other way to write like (abab) or something?

Own rhythmic scale with bits mark can be used.
