Today is my twins birthday. They're 6 years old today. This afternoon I have to bring treats in to their classroom. Then later tonight we will do cake and presents, just us. Their party is going to be next weekend with all their friends. I've planned a pool party.
What do you do for your kid's birthday? Do you do any celebration on the day, or wait until their planned party?

Happy birthday to your twins! My eldest was born on the same day as my Dad so when it was their birthdays I used to keep my son off school and we would all go somewhere for the day. My next sons birthday falls during the summer school holidays and it has become a bit of a tradition for us to go away for a week at that time so it is his birthday while we are on holiday. We did not do it last year and it was just not the same at all! My third sons birthday is on a school day but I kept him off last year and if he wants to I will keep him off next year we just take him out for a meal his choice. My daughters birthday falls in the christmas school hols she will be three this time so I am hoping we can afford to take her to pizza hut for hers. I have just thought I need to get the teddy bear cake tin for her off ebay I keep forgetting!

We almost didn't have school today. We got a ton of snow last night and I was worried school would be cancelled. That would be awful because I haven't wrapped their presents, or made their cake, and they are so looking forward to their school treats. They are treated like royalty in school on their birthday. They get to make a crown and be helper for the day, and they even announce their birthday on the loud speaker to the whole school. They're very excited about that.

That is lovely what they do in school for them, they have nothing like that at schools here. Wow snow, I hate the snow, although we hardly get any so school is never closed due to bad weather here.

They only close schools in extreme weather here. But usually the first snowfall of the season throws everyone for a loop. Honestly, we get nasty winters here, but the first snow fall you'd think everyone was a tourist. It's like they've forgotten how to drive in snow since the few months previous when we had our last snowfall. It takes a couple weeks before they remember. So if our first snow fall is a big one, sometimes they will cancel school. After that they only cancel during extreme blizzards or if the temp hits 25 below zero. It only happens a couple times a year.

I send my sons treats to school with him on his birthday instead of taking them to the school. They don't really have a party in the class room here. They just get to eat their treats towards the end of the school day. I have never had a party for my kids. They get a homemade dinner, cake, ice cream and presents.

My oldest son's preschool allowed us to make treats, and I made cupcakes then too. Then the twins preschool only wanted healthy snacks, so I sent in cereal bars, lol.

I usually take the treats in because I'm afraid the kids will destroy them on the way into school. I send cupcakes usually, although this year my daughter wants ice cream, so I'm doing ice cream for one class, and cupcakes for the other.

we don't usually do anything on the day of their birthday unless if falls on the weekend. we pick a sunday that is the closest to their birthday and then we have a party with family and friends. our oldest is 6 so she got to take cupcakes to school this year to share with her class.

I have always done something small for them on the day of their birthday. Usually it consists of cake and ice cream with Grandma, then we have a birthday party on either the weekend before, or after their birthday. My youngest 2 have birthdays that are 2 weeks apart, so I usually do a combined party between the 2.

We have cookouts for our oldest girl with family and friends. Her birthday is in the summer and she's too young to have many friends. We don't usually have his son on his birthday so we don't do the party thing. We couldn't out-do his mom anyway, so little Mr. Spoiled wouldn't be happy if we did do anything anyway. My youngest hasn't had her 1st yet.

For the little ones it's usually just us with some cake and a couple gifts. We don't have much family or friends other than his parents, and I can only handle so much of those people. They asked if they could come for cake tonight, but they're coming next week for Thanksgiving, so I said no. If they got the twins presents they can bring them next week on Thanksgiving. Seeing them more than once a month is too much for me.

I was planned for that a especial day for my children but if time came they always have more things to come that needs much attention rather than birthday celebration. So I told them that one day we will celebrated your birthday with more than what w planned. So we celebrated their birthday in a simple ways. Go to church and thank God for the wonderful life He gave. Asking for more blessings to all my children.
