How did you quit smoking?

I used to smoke a lot way back in college and my parents did not know and still don't know about that habit...tsk tsk...Please don't tell them! Anyway, I quit because it came to a point when there were be very small droplets of blood in my spit and I had a very bad cough which lasted for more than a month. In a way I might have "quit cold turkey" but I think it was the best thing I ever did. Ever since I quit 4 years ago, I have not smoked a decent stick, I can't finish a stick anymore! If you have quit smoking, how did you quit? If you still smoke, any plans on quitting and on how to quit?
