Everybody needs an education if they want to get somewhere in life. Myself, I want to be a bass guitarist in a rock band one day...so i need to know how to do math and read music. But if I don't reach that dream, I want to be either a photographer or a journalist. I need my education for both of those careers. If you want to be successful in life, you should get as much as education that you can acheive. Yeah, it's a pain but it'll pay off in the future.

What parents cannot teach, one learns at school. If one argues everything can be learnt in life without school, then one is short sighted. No doubt nothing is new under the sun, but the tendency of human being is to just look at it and forget about it. Some quantity of regimentation is required - a sort of drill to one's mind to acquire knowledge in a systematic way. School education is very important in one's life for the simple reason, the basic purpose of education - learning to acquire knowledge, learning to acquire about basic human relationships, respect to elders, respect to teachers, respect to parents, to learn about various sciences etc. There is also another social problem if the children do not go to school. If the children do not go to school, what will they do at home. You send them to jobs? They ought to do what they are supposed to do at different age levels.

You need to educate yourself more instead of depending on others to educate you

I think that school is a good place to learn, but i personally think that everyone learns different. Some people find it easy to learn at school, while others find it eaiser to learn on their own or just go straight out and get a job and get experience.
I think that if you want a job and you have the skills weather or not you went to school for it, i think everyone should be given that oppertunity.
The thing i find fustrating with school is you study for years and years to do the job you want after, but when you actually get around to applying for that job they say things like you need 5 years experience and then you have to most of the time work your way up from the bottom, even though you just spent so many years learning.
Its like for example if you have a man in a nice business suit who doesnt have all the quailfications or experience or doesnt know about the job, and a homeless guy who knows the job inside out like the back of his hand, the person in the suit would get it purley because of his apperance, not because he would actually benefit the company.
I think people should do what they feel is right. You never stop learning.

YES. if you are to survive this day and age, you have to have some kind of education. Not up to a professor level. But at least a basic education. I have personal experience cos I work in a factory. It is extremely difficult to get the work done the way we want, if the worker is uneducated. They just cannot understand what we say. So everybody needs education.

Schooling is very important and the age of schooling is also important. At school we study the method of learning. The learning process never ends. The formal education is very important in the sense it is like sign boards kept along the road. When these sign boards are followed we reach at the right place.Similarly formal education will lead you where you want to reach. There are many topics taught in the school which may not be needed to us. These are the different options and one can select according to the preference. If these options are not set in front of a child how can he select according to his whish. If you go to a shop there are many commodity. But you select only a few. So can you say that the other things are not needed. There are persons who want these commodities also.Hence let people select to their choice and this selection is possible only by formal schooling and education

Everyone needs an education. Initially this education should be at some sort of school, so that children learn to socialise with their peers as well as formal learning. People who cannot read and write are at such a disadvantage in life, irrespective of the country. So, yes education is essential.
However, higher education in the form of a degree or diploma is not essential. There are people who have a degree and although good at theory cannot put what they learned into practice. Some people are natually talented and can do a certain job without the benefit of higher education.
Finally life is education and we should learn something new every day. What we learn daily might not be important in the overall scheme of things but still we have learnt that one thing. :)

I need school. I am a single mom trying to support a 18 month old toddler. I am currently working on a nursing degree. I intend on getting a Masters. I also think that an education is necessary for everyone, but I do think that school is not necessarily for everyone. People have their own ways of learning. However, actually having a college degree will most likely make a huge difference in your income.

School is definitely important. In today's world, it is very hard to find a job that will support you and enable you to retire without a proper education. Earning potential increases with more education. It is also very good to keep using your brain and continue learning, because if you don't use it, you lose it! I for one value my education. I am still working on a Bachelor's degree here in the states, and I am even starting to contemplate a Master's!

Depends on the person...Me? I need education. I enjoy it (to a point) and want it for job security. Other people are go-getters and know what they want out of life. They are 'doers' and don't need an education to get their butts into gear. These types of people are usually good at communication.

I think now days an education is a plus but its not absolutely needed. I know a lot of people who have wonderful talents and make decent incomes and only have a high school diploma. I have my Master's degree and my friend with an associates makes 50,000 more than me. So go figure. I think what God has for a person he has for a person. Everyone can't be rich and never will.
