Making Money Online: If You Say You Can't, Then You Won't.

I'm amazed by the amount of people who think they can't make a part-time income online, let alone a full-time income. I guess I find it slightly frustrating hearing people say that because I KNOW it's possible. I'm living it. I'm making money online. Not full-time yet, but I'm making enough of a part-time income to pay a significant amount of my bills every month. Yes, it's VERY hard work to get there - but it's possible. So possible. I often think we're only limited by what we THINK we can't do. Believe me, I've been there. It took a lot of self-honesty to admit to myself that I was the one getting in my own way. And I'm still learning. I just wanted to say this to people who think it's related to: AIM HIGHER. THE BOTTOM DOESN'T SUIT YOU AND WAS NEVER MEANT FOR YOU. If anyone feels like adding to this discussion, please do. take care...

Making money online used to pretty much require you to have your own Web site, products to sell and some marketing savvy. But a new generation of dot-coms have arisen that will pay you for what you know and who you know without you having to be a web designer or a marketing genius.

Saviour-V teleports in... It's a slow process, but do-able. And like many of us here, I have had my fair share of misses. But the hits are usually the sweetest. Besides, these keep me going when my office work doesn't, anyway...^_^;; Cheerio, comrade browneyed. Saviour-V grins, and teleports out...

I have been researching on online earning for more than a year. Very few programs are genuine. I have listed them in my website http://online-earning.110mb.com Go through the website and post your comments whether it is useful or anything need to be changed.

Good discussion. I agree completely. When I first started researching earning money online, I thought it was all just a scam, and many are, but many aren't as well. I have found several streams of income online and I too am paying several of my bills every month with money I have earned online. If anyone is interested in earning good money online, check out my profile and visit my website or just add a .net to my username.

I whole heartedly agree! I think we set our own limits by the limits of our belief in ourselves. the thing about making a living online is that you need to learn all kinds of new tricks and you really need to be organized with your time. Thus far in the internet money making business you have to put a lot of effort in to get a little bit out. That may not be so in the not too far future. It's just going to get better and better and the ones who learn early on will be the ones with the upper hand when things get good. It's like anything. In the beginning it may not be as good as we would like, but when it really gets rolling you had better be on board or you'll miss the ride. You fulfill your own destiny and your belief in yourself is the fuel that makes you go. Good luck, Jay

Thanks for that. I particularly like your last sentence 'belief in yourself is the fuel that makes you go'. If I may, I might print that out and stick it up on my wall. You take care and thanks again for your contribution.

I believe there is money to be made on the internet. However I also believe those who think there isn't are the ones that want it to land in their laps. I think too many people are wanting a way to get rich quick. In life or on the internet it just isn't going to happen. Thanks so much for letting us know there are other ways of making money online. I will have to look into some of your methods.

Hi Tammytwo, Glad I could help. And I agree - there often isn't a short-cut. I think part of wanting to get rich quick can also be out of complete and utter desperation to get out of a particular situation. take care...

Of course you can make decent money online. The catch is that you have to do some work, and not fall for get-rich-quick schemes. I skim over the money topics here almost every day, and I just can't get over how gullible people are -- and lazy, too. Of course, a lot of them probably don't have the skills to do the kind of work that pays well, so they don't have much choice. I've been writing for a long time, and I'm still learning, still trying to hone my skills, so it's definitely not something that's going to make you rich overnight. Writing will probably never make you rich, to tell the truth, but it's honest, satisfying work, and it's always possible to do better, if you keep at it. By the way, I sent you a friend invite.

Hello! It is A LOT of hard work, especially when you have another job in tow. I think if people are made aware of how hard it is, then they might be less likely to give up when they hit the rough. I plan to check out your sites soon. take care and have a good week.

I am so glad you came out and said this. This is so true. Some people don't even take the time to realize, if no one is making money on the internet, then why are there so many sites about it? I mean even the scams wouldn't catch people if no one could make money online. Yet and still, you go to places like Yahoo Answers and look at the responses people get when they ask how to make money online. If the question has been there a while, you will always see one or two people stating that everything is a scam. This is what I preach to everyone that is starting out in making a living online. Before you try anything, you have to have a belief that what you are doing can make you an income. If you don't have at least that, you will never make a single dime. I wrote more about this in an article I have posted at helium, feel free to read it. http://www.helium.com/items/780277-testimonies-strategies-for-effectively-earning-money-online

Hi cryw0lf, Good on you! Ok, I get most of my work from a site called DigitalPoint forums. They have a Content Creation section there where I've been able to get clients who are looking for writers to do things like blog posting, article writing and proofreading. I also scour other sites that list writing jobs such as freelancewritinggigs.com, allfreelancewritingjobs.com and bloggerjobs.biz For more info, do feel free to pass by my blog (which is in my profile). take care...

I just responded to another discussion, about how I made my first dollar online. I looked back to see what it was and saw my first payment was received in March this year, and it was exactly $1. Since then I have slowly built up my income, and my reputation, and I now have a good portfolio of work. I have already earned enough to cover the cost of my laptop, and I make more than enough each month to pay for my internet connection. I see too many people expecting to sign up to one site and expect to make hundreds of dollars in return for not doing much. It does not work like that. You have to have different streams of income, and you have to work hard to slowly build up your income. At the same time you should be acquiring new skills, learning more about promotion, networking and thinking of better ways to earn money, rather than always having to compete with everyone else joining the same sites.

Hi paid2write, Your journey is inspirational to say the least. I'll keep on passing by your blog to see how things are ticking along for you. I'd love to get myself a laptop - one of those really small ones. I'll aim for that next year with my online income. Yes, it's bloody hard work, isn't it? I actually felt like giving up at times. There were times when I went to bed utterly exhausted and miserable - but then, I'd pick myself up the next day. Sleep helps. Besides, everytime I think of the alternative (working a 9-5), it spurs me on. take care, you!

I agree with you!!! Obviously if you are very negative without even trying it out then you won't succeed. I believe that those who keep trying are better than those who don't try at all. Sure, you sometimes end up wasting your time when the site you join turns out to be a scam. But still, in time you'll earn something. I've been earning money online for a few months now and though the income isn't great or what, it's something. :)

Yes, I think sometimes it's easier to say something doesn't work than to deal with the personal fact that you're too scared to give it a go (for whatever reason). It does take holding yourself up to the mirror to admit what you're really up to. Glad you're earning - good on you. If you feel the income isn't that great, is there something you can do about it? take care...

Hello marquitafox, Thanks for chipping in. Glad it's making you feel more positive about what's possible. It's bloody hard work - very much so - but it can be done. I earn most of my money through freelance writing. I get hired to write blog posts and articles for people. I also do a couple of proofreading jobs now and again as well as paid surveys. Some of the sites where I look for writing jobs are: - http://forums.digitalpoint.com - http://www.freelancewritingjobs.com - http://www.allfreelancewritingjobs.com - http://www.bloggerjobs.biz - http://www.performancing.com - http://www.craigslist.com - http://www.thegoldenpencil.com The main paid survey sites I use are: - http://www.globaltestmarket.com - http://www.lightspeedpanel.com - http://www.homeofresearch.com (p.s: they're re-jigging their site at the mo') Hope this helps. take care...

This I have found to be so True. In the yrs. I have been online earning Extra income, there are many that sit there in awe wondering how I can make Extra $$ just by being online, but since I am earning a little extra each month, I know it is possible for sure. Most think if they cannot replace their job in one month then it is a waste of time, or do not want to earn only pennies a day like we do here. Or then there are those not wanting to give anyone their information so they in turn have to always work for someone else out there as well. No, I still have to work for someone else as well, but I have no complaints most months with all I am doing and the extra $$ I am earning. Someday it might eventually replace my income, but until that day comes, I am happy what I am doing online as well.

I've made some money online through Etsy. I make tote bags and diaper bags. I sold a custom diaper bag over the summer for $30. I have also made $34 writing articles for Associated Content and I've made $39 answering questions as a guide on ChaCha. It's not much but it buys a package of pull-ups or some gas for the car every now and then. I've only been with MyLot for a few days and have made a whole .25 so far. I'm not going to give up and am going to work hard to increase my income.

Hi KrayZLady76, I could tell you were really creative just by your name and the way you wrote it! Send me a link to your Etsy site as I'd love to check it out. And welcome to myLot too! Also, check out one of the comments I've replied to in this thread as it has a list of sites you can visit if you're looking for more writing opportunities. Do you know what a dream-map is? It's basically a collage of things you want to achieve. I have a money dream-map stuck on my wall above my computer that I created from newspaper and magazine cuttings. Some of the cuttings I pasted on there is a picture of Oprah, one of a dancer leaping into the air, and a man trying hard to break free from the chains he's wrapped in. Maybe you could create your own dream-map as a way of inspiring yourself, keeping your dreams and desires in sight and staying focused. Just a suggestion. take care...
