hi guys! don't you hate it when someone vandalises a good wikipedia topic?
i mean, for several times, i've stumbled upon various topics with sometimes horrifying lines edited by some jerk. some have the f* word even. or worse, sometimes people post grossly inaccurate information in an article.
this is sad since wikipedia is increasingly being used as an encyclopaedia alternative. and since the researchers probably have no idea about which parts are inaccurate, they may absorb the incorrect information as is, or even get ridiculed by their teachers or professors when they submit their researches.
i guess that wikipedia should not be the sole source of research information, but rather as a minor additional info source.
but still, i find it sad that some people would vandalise several articles there.

I've used wikipedia as a quick reference usually just to confirm something. I never take it on it's own as a major factual source. I mostly use it for the sources and links they list on the bottom of the page.
I have seen a few pages hijacked. It's so childish to do that. It really is a handy & convenient resource and I would hate to see people get too skiddish to use it over someone's pathetic idea of a joke.
