How is the internet affecting us?

This is a very good discussion because the internet is a very important part of most peoples lives today,because you can do almost anything on the internet today because of the immense power that the internet offers to people when it comes to accomplish tasks,and I am sure there are a lot of people out there who depend on the internet for about everything and they do not spend much time away from their computers and away from the internet,and they are very addicted to the internet and being on the internet as much time as possible,and if they could be on the internet twenty four hours a day,seven days a week they would,and then I am sure there are people who do not use the internet a lot either because they do not trust computers and prefer to do things not on a computer,or because they are not up on technology and do not like using computers,or do not have a computer because they think that computers are a waste of time,and are nothing but trouble,and there are people who I bet think that computers are not safe,and I think the internet is a very big thing especially in the world today,because the internet is a very important tool,and you can do a lot on the internet today,you can do online banking which helps you keep track of your money without having to deal with paper statements,and you can shop online which is very convenient because you can shop from the comfort of your own home,especially since most people live busy lives and they do not have time to visit a store,and shopping online helps you avoid busy stores especially if you are doing Christmas shopping,and you can find almost anything online that you want to buy,which keeps from having to go from store to store to buy things,and since the economy is so bad,and gas prices are always fluctuating,and we never know what gas prices are going to be like tomorrow so if you buy things online you do not have to waste gas to go to a store to buy things so you end up saving money which is always a good thing if you ask me,and online is a good place to make money and me and my fiance are having trouble finding jobs right now because of the economy,so we try and make as much money online as we can so we can survive,one sites like mylot especially since right now we are planning and saving for our wedding which is set for September of next year,and before long it will be January and we will have to make the invitations,and we will have to start buying more of the attire,and start planning the food,and many other things that we have to do for the wedding,so we are busting our butts on mylot and other sites to make as much money as we can,even though it is a very slow process.

i think eventually everyone will start working on the interent, and most companies will run out of business because no one wants to work for them. maybe recent college grads desperate for work and dont have any connections. all office building will be converted to something else like homes, apartments, condos, restaurants, and entertainment centers. life is changing, and our towns will change into a more modern technology, with different ways of doing things, working and living.

Good way to kill time... :) Great source of knowledge... Great way to have fun and find entertainment... :D well, those are just some of good reasons why we love internet... But of course, if there is a pro there is a con.. One example of a con is that when kids/minors, get in to internet and find things they are not supposed ti be viewing.. I suppose you know what i mean.. so internet is like an Open whole new world that everyone can see and get into :)

internet has been very helpful for me . Be it in my personal life, since this is my form of communciation with my family overseas, and career-wise since I get a lot of information to make me grow professionally. It will be very uncomfotable if i wont have internet the whole day. I would feel miserable but I will surely survive. My phone can be connected to internet. LOL.

well,i don't think the internet is a dangerous one,even through it brings something unhealthy to someone.But it just depends on people's self-discipline,not the internet itself.I touched the internet just 5 years ago,now i look back it, i should thank to the inventors who created computer&internet,because of these,we get so many knowledges & informations from it,especially,it make me have a great much passions to find learn so many interesting & useful things ,and also,just for it i have get some acquaintanceships with a lot of good people.

internet is a user generated, open to all platform. its a free speech! yes internet is affecting our lives, but in a good way. the addiction towards book was a thing of the past, the latest trend is to read on the net, and internet has surely more knowledge than a library can have. So, over all i think internet is affecting our lives in a good way. We still need to take care of a few things, as too much of internet may create some problems. here are a few suggestions: 1) posture: sit straight. 2) take breaks: often move our of your computer room and have some fresh air outside. 3) use LCD: i think the old CRT monitors are too harsh on our eyes... use need to start using the LCD monitors if we haven't already! 4) Do constructive work: here's a few things we can do time to time on the net, like report spam, reply and help grow internet's knowledge base, add value by posting your views and comments whenever required!

The Internet is amazing. You just have to be careful. You never know who is lurking around out there. And of course, it is quite easy to become addicted to the Internet. This is fun at the time, but all addictions eventually have their downfall. However, it is such an easy way to communicate, stay in touch, research, play games, and earn money, etc. and so on. So, just use it as a tool and always remember to appreciate it. :)

Perfect knowledge center,pastime too.But should not be waste of time as we do when go out and talk against others.Go to feast and party too.

I also know someone who got hooked to internet and forget other aspect of his life like family time with kids, exercise and skip meals. I think balance life is important. Don't let the internet or the computer controls us. Remember that it is just a tool to make people's life easier.

its a gr8 resource, but if abused, it is also the fall for us. being addicted to the internet?.? depends on how they use it. if they use it to play games or something like that, they are probably addicted. if they use it for work, it is probably a good reason to do so.
