I am so confused now! In the past, you were either considered a 'goth' or not! Now, they have all sorts of names such as:
"Emo"
"Scene Child"
"Klub Kid"
"Posh"(don't ask me O.o)
"Romanticist" (Meaning you are still a goth, you just didn't look it......)
"The wanna-be vampires"
What is up with that. People use those terms like they are rankings. Your still a goth, but your at a surtain level or tier. It's funny!
But what exactly is an 'emo'? Like, is it an internet fad? Can someone please explain these terms to me? Why do we have to lable ppl in the first place?

Someone once said that emo is the child of punk and goth :-) Emo has elements of both goth and punk. I consider myself to be all three because I can easily relate to certain elements in each one of them. The bottom line is not to let anyone label you. Just adopt the stuff that appeals to you and leave out what you don't like. Oh and by the way, I heard that there are even hippy goths! :-)

hmm I always thought emo stood for emotional. like if you notice most emo pictures they are either looking down, away, or hair covering their face. Not many smiles . They never really look at the camera. I think the term is starting to be used to poke jokes at people who are getting upset over small things.. Sorta like someone at work starting to complain about something happening in life. To make a joke people would say ''Bob stop being so emo''. Cheesy example but you get the point.. Also think emo are depressed about life and use various sharp objects to cut themselves.. I used to see some picture going around the internet that said "I wish my grass was emo so it would cut itself" Think it actually turned into a t-shirt.

I think what kids call themselves depends on your area. I live in NJ and there's emo kids. Here, in NJ, emo just means they like certain type of rockish bands and dress with unique haircuts. They also love eyeliner. They don't do the all black of goth and stuff like that. When I was in high school, 2001-2005, the emo kids in my school called themselves Ravers, despite none of them going to raves. I think sometimes there's differences in what the terms mean.

Nowadays we call whatever we want.. I called one a evil hippy once
and he just stood there with his vampire clothes and his make up. In the past he would have screamed with his evil voice. I guess things change
