Not sure what to make of it or take from it, but it seems Medvedev has entered in to a deal with Hugo Chavez to build a nuclear reactor there. One can well asume it is more than just business and eually about provoking, from the following statement from Medvedev: "Russia's message is: 'We can exert influence in your backyard if you continue to exert influence in our backyard. If you don't take your missiles out of Poland and end Nato expansion we're going to increase our influence in Latin America and do things to provoke you." http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/nov/18/medvedev-chavez-nuclear-russia-venezuela

Didn't they also do a reactor deal with Iran too? Well it seems they want all of our enemies to have nukes. Plus it is big business for them. Russia is definately not our friend and I see us going back to a cold war relationship with them. But you are right this is also in protest of our missile in Poland.

Politics makes strange bed fellows. Chavez and medvedev I can see, Amajinidad and Medvedev though? Yeh, VERY strange bedfellows indeed. But there they are.

I think we better keep a good eye on them. I do not trust any of them and I do think they are plotting. Especially with the current crisis we have. We could get distracted enough for them to do something stupid.

What makes it ok for the usa to have missiles in poland?poland used to be part of the ussr and this im sure would have angered many in moscow. So the usa can do what it likes and russia the perceived "bad guy" just has to sit there and do nothing? i say its about time that someone in south/central america stood up to the usa along with cuba.
