I still got 15 minutes

Well, now 14... I have to leave the house in 14 minutes for work and I still haven't done anything to get ready. I keep telling myself that I can get ready in such a short time since an hour ago (and I can shower and get dressed and make a sandwich) but I'm still not getting up from where I'm at right now.
The minute hand just went up again. I'd better move. Do you ever feel this way sometimes?

TELL ME...did you make it??? I do it ALL the time then get p!ssed with myself for even letting it happen!!! I do OK if I don't sit down in front of the computer & let my fingers touch the keyboard!!! Especially if I need to take a shower. I always think I can answer just one. But, like potato chips, there is NO such thing as just one!!! SO, TELL ME...did you make it???

Hahahaha.... if people didn't have to have jobs I wonder how many would do anything else but sit at the computer?? The only way I get ANYTHING done around here is if I do not even LOOK at it, let alone put my fingers to the keyboard!!!!

I made it. I skipped the sandwich as I knew I would be coming home to a big lunch anyway. I did a quick shower, decided what I'm going to wear while in the shower and voila, before I knew it, I was in my car, getting it started. Thanks, LadyM.

Yes, many times, when it's not that important. I feel, my priorities in terms of such things, are highly situational. That means, I can be be a procrastinator when I can afford to . But when I have to meet the deadline, I am very prompt and right there.

My sentiments exactly! But there are times when I don't feel like going to something very important but make myself go so I have to drag myself out of the lazy couch. Hope you're having a wonderful day/night, mimpi!

I don't call it as being lazy, mimpi. It's giving yourself a treat after a hard day's work.

That is why I never tried to do anything in the morning before work. So all the years we were in the workforce I would pay more attention to our night-time online alarms than to the clock type one that rang in the morning.
It went something like this:
First alarm: Only THREE more hours until sleep.
Second alarm: Clothes laid out? Snacks ready? Tomorrow's dinner started?
Third alarm: Only ONE more hour until sleep.
Fourth alarm: Must be IN bed in 20 minutes. Do last check now.
Fifth alarm: 10 minutes...is HE ready?
Sixth alarm: NO MORE EXCUSES.

I wish I could go back to that kind of habit again. I used to get everything ready before I went off to bed. But lately, what I want to do is just sit and not do anything after I get home from work. But I'm back now. Tomorrow I get to be lazy.

Hehehehe, yep, I have had a few of those kinds of mornings. On those days I usually end up skipping the shower, skipping the sandwich, and forgetting to put on underwear, or wearing two different socks or something, in my hurry.
I worked at an answering service in Los Angeles many years ago and there were these two kids that worked there, they were like 18 or 19 or something like that (they were bf & gf), and they used to come to work in their pajamas! Riding on the bus and everything, hehehe.

I knew I had told that story somewhere here on MyLot... I was hoping it wasn't to you, hehehe. Oh well, it fit here!
So did you make it to work on time? Did you remember your underwear and have on matching shoes? Are you home now?

My cousin once took a hourlong bus ride and noticed when she stepped off the bus that her shoes were not a pair. I skipped the sandwich today. I had coffee anyway. That makes me okay for several hours.
I remember the pajama-clad co-worker. I think you said that in one of our earliest/oldest discussions.

I made it on time. I'm always on time for work. I still had 5 minutes to spare. And yes, I had underwear on but no socks since my outfit didn't need one. I am home now, up early again but I am raring to start it since it's my day off!!! What's the X for, Ziggy?

Hi anne! I sure do feel like that sometimes! I just can't get
myself to move! I know that I have to be somewhere and that
the time is just ticking away and I can't make myself get up
to go and take my shower and get myself ready. And I refuse
to go out without taking my shower and washing my hair! And
it takes me at least 1/2 hour with super rushing to do all
that! And I mean super rushing! I don't know why I get that
way, I just do!

I rushed but slowly.
And like you, I now refuse to go out without taking a shower. Not only does it make me feel clean and respectable but it wakes me up even more. Tick tock tick tock tick tock...

When it comes to cleaning, I try to do it 1-2 days ahead. But I also have a container handy to stash everything away when in a rush. Have a grRReat day, glords.

Well, I always tackle the carpet first and foremost. Takes a whole day to dry it out.

It happens sometimes, but not too often. When i have to go someplace i'm normally readya little earlier. But this sort of laziness can happen to me when i have to carry out a tsk which i may thinkis not high at all on my list of priorities.

I always try to be on time, alokn. Not just at work but with personal appointments too. I'm used to waiting for some people I know that I don't want to be that person making another person wait. But I made it to work with five minutes left.
I think I was lazy because I knew it was the day before I'm off for another day. I'm not that person that says "one more day, yay! let's get this day over" but "one more day, ugh!". Thanks!

I know where your coming from - I am blessed/cursed with a fairly free working day, I can turn up any time between 8 and 10 and no-one will say anything as long as I put in the hours. That's one way to see it, but it means there is less urgency about making that move out of the door in the morning, and I find myself starting up the PC and browsing when I should be on my way to work.
I am also constantly doing that thing where I am aware that I have plenty of time before an appointment, and before you know it I am rushing round being late because I started doing something else...

Oh my goodness, thanks livewyre. I try not to think about my rating anymore when I notice it took a fall from 100. But thank you. You made my day start well.

Well, what if you show up at 11 and still put in the hours, livewyre?
"I have an hour left, I'll start getting ready in 30 minutes... then 15, then 10 and then freak out!"
Now, I am slowly getting used to not staying online longer. I try to stick to the time limit but sometimes, I don't listen even to my own self.
Take care, livewyre and enjoy spending time with your kid. Thanks!

Hi Anne,
I am very conscious about time and I always love to be in the workplace 30 or 45 minutes ahead, I am that silly! LOL!

45 minutes? Woah there, checapricorn. I actually do that on Fridays. After my part-time job, I have an hour to kill but since my next job is less than five minutes away, I grab me some lunch and just head there and wait the time away. Take care, che!

When I used to work, I was always, rather 10 minutes ahead of time. But at parties, I am always late, I don't feel the need that I should reach there on time. Have a nice day!

Should I assume that when you get there, that's when the party starts?
I always try to be on time, be it work or meeting friends. Most of the time, I end up waiting. I always tell myself to be a little late the next time but still find myself there waiting.
Thanks, comfort!

Yup that happens to me especially on days that I feel very lazy. Sometimes I just lie down in bed a little longer but sometimes I don't notice how fast time flies. Whenever that happens I feel guilty but at the same time happy because I was able to get a few more minutes of rest.

I think I was feeling extra lazy getting in the shower yesterday magojordan. I notice that I'm almost always this way the day before a day off. Right now, it's my day off and I'm extra perky and can do anything.
I hope you get those few more minutes of rest without feeling guilty and without really rushing yourself. Take care and thanks.

I always feel this way, If I'll be compared to an animal most probably the closest will be the cat or probably a sloth. I am so lazy even in eating meals I find it hard to do. I rather sleep, lie down in bed and watch TV the whole day. Especially now that I am pregnant I usually wake up these days around 11 in the morning.

rhyanne - you get all the sleep in while you can girl - you won't know what sleep is soon enough...! Ha Ha - Seriously though I hope your pregnancy goes smoothly, I have been a Dad these last 5 years and I have to say they have honestly been the best years of my life - even with the lack of sleep!

Rhyannefranz, you have A reason to be miss sloth or cat nowadays. Congratulations on being pregnant and good luck! Thanks for taking the time out from sleeping and laying in bed and watching TV to respond to my discussion.

I might feel that way but I would never let the time go by like that. Even if I didn't want to go I would still get up and do what I have to do. I am the type of person that is always on time or always there 30 minutes before time. If I waited to the last minute I wouldn't be any good to anyone.

Keep it up then, Chevee. I'm always 5-15 minutes early. Yesterday, I was 5 minutes early. I wish more people are like you so I don't have to wait for them too. Thanks for the response.

I know, uday. Every minute is important. It is important to just feel like moving when you feel like moving especially if you've been working pretty hard. The latte sounds really good. Right now, I'm having a cappuccino. Thanks for sharing, uday!

...and you still have time to do myLot, SaintAnne..
Yes, I was like that before I have a kid, dear. I was like.. "give me another five mintues.." tick-tock.. "okay, another five.."... tick..tock.. So my mother would just shout, "Hey! It's 10 o'clock already!" I get up rushing only to find out that it's only 9.. darn it.. It worked all the time. haha! I'm the last minute person. It used to take me 2 hours to take a bath, dress up, and eat. haha!
Anyway, now I don't have that luxury anymore.. Hey! Your baby pooped.. okay.. give me another minute.. No, I can't say that anymore. So I'll just drag myself up only to find out that it's a false alarm. geez!

You're just like my sister. She's always the last one done. When we were younger, I would run to get inside the school gate so I won't be late. Sister would not even try and so she'd be late. Until now, I have to give Sister a big leeway when it comes to getting ready.
Well, it's good that you check your baby's diaper if you think he? or she? (I forgot) pooped. At least you get up for that one...
