I'm a rather frugal person. I have not had a credit card yet, but I could see how people would overspend with it. You can't see the money amount whenever you want to, and you don't see how it adds up. I think it is better to know what you have and you don't have, and keep yourself on a budget. It's good to be realistic and not deny the fact that you're only borrowing and you really are going to have to pay. Even better, always use cash.

Instead of thinking of them as "Credit" cards (Which sounds positive),think of what you're using them for-borrowing somebody else's money at 17% interest! (ymmv) they are DEBT cards...If you are unable to buy something with your own money, you should only use a card (Preferably a Debit Card) where you are drawing on money that is in your account.ONLY ever consider a "credit" card if you can afford to pay off the full balance each month..that way,YOU are in control, not the Bank!

it depends on how you use it..
credit cards should never be used for rotation of money which is bad..

I would have to agree with you. I have many credit cards and they are all maxed out. The minuite that I make a payment I always need to use it again to get stuff that we need for the house. Unless you can use it very carefully then I wouold say not to get any.

if you don't know how to control your spending, then it's bad. credit cards give you an illusion that you have a lot of money to spend thinking that you can pay for it anyway in installments. the interest on deferred payments is substantial ones you sum it up.
if you do know how to control your spending, then it's not bad. credit cards are convenient. you don't have carry a lot of cash and you don't have to search for an atm when you're low in cash for a very important purchase.
