i really do love the story of this movie because it portrays what true love really means.. until the end they have each other! until their death they were holding each other.. i also admired the man's patience to the woman.. he visit the woman everyday just to tell her their love story for the woman to remember everything..

It's definitely one of the best movies I've ever seen. I first watched it with my friend and towards the end, we both just started sobbing. I found it hard to control myself because the emotion was so strong for me. It all felt very real and so I would recommend this movie for anyone to watch. It's very romancy so maybe a date movie...?

I will second that. It is so romantic that a man could love a woman that much to hold on till the end. What man today is really willing to do that? He would not let go when he first met her and he held on until they both passed. So sad and romantic.

Splender in the Grass is my very favorite love story of all time. In my youth I was so afraid it would happen to me that way. It did. I did not marry my high school sweet heart. It just didn't happen. It just was not meant to be. We married others..No regrets yet, I so loved him and to this day have ever so fond loving memories of all the precious time we spent together learning and growing up together only to be seperated by time to love another.

I love this movie because it reminds me so much of my boyfriend and I. That may sound a little far-fetched to some of you at first, but it really is true. We have been together since high school, Sophomore year. It has been 5 1/2 years now and we have never once thought of splitting up or had any serious problems. I have been seriously ill for the past 3 1/2 years and he has stayed by my side through it all. The Notebook reminds me so much of us especially because he still loves her although it is not always easy and sometimes it is painful to watch her. There have been times throughout my relationship with my boyfriend when I have been so weak that he has had to carry me to and from the bathroom, bring me food and water, and do basically everything for me. He has done it all without a single complaint with love in his eyes!
I hope that everyone can someday experience this kind of love and the love that is depicted in The Notebook. With that kind of love, you can get through anything! When doctors wonder why I am still alive, I know it is because I have true love to keep me strong!
