Hey everyone. I have a question for those of us here who believe in the paranormal that I'd be interested in hearing some answers to. Where ever you live, are there any places that are said (in seriousness) to be haunted?
I've been living in my town for ten years now. Just last month I read an article in my local newspaper about an old building in town. Apparently, this place is allegedly haunted as according to some people. According to the article, the building is abandoned and used to be the building where a local private school was.
From what I read, when you enter the building through the north hallway, you apparently get the standard feeling that you're being watched. One of the people interviewed for the article said that he's heard shuffling sounds coming from somewhere in the hall that sounds like footsteps. Others said they have either heard or know people who have heard disembodied voices.
Being that I have a big interest in the subject, needless to say I'd love to look into it myself.
But what about you all? Any places thought to be haunted where you live?

I live in Jersey and in Philadelphia there is Eastern State Penitentiary which is supposedly haunted. Being in Jersey there are supposedly a lot of haunted places you can go to www.weirdnj.com there are places on that site that are abandoned and supposedly haunted. My brother has been to some of them and said he's never seen anything, but other people supposedly have.

I live really close to Gettysburg, PA. (The battle of Gettysburg) Supposedly there are a lot of place that are haunted because everything is built up around the battlefields. They even have ghost tours in the evenings. I have never been on one but I'd like too.

I live in an area where the Underground Railroad ended,*One of them* and there are a few ancient mansions around here that look pretty haunted. I wouldn't know, I'm a big coward. I just watch the shows. I've never had any paranormal encounter, thank god.

I believe in them. I've only experienced one for sure. It was my mom's boyfriend that was killed by a drunk driver. Long story but I did not see anything I just felt his presence. It did scare me but then I made me feel good that he came to see me.

Yeah, I've heard a lot about places around Gettysburg being haunted. I've actually wanted to visit there for a long time for both the fact of its US historical significance (I really enjoy reading stuff about the American Revolution and Civil War) as well as that very reason.

Yes, my own house is haunted, and if TAPS would like to come visit my house, they are more than welcome to. I know that the ghost is a male, but I am not sure if it is my brother, or if it is another ghost.

I believe that my trailer that I am staying is haunted. Just this week, I was sitting in the computer room, in the daytime. And I heard breathing. And when I went to look around, there was no one there. It really was very odd. I know what I heard. My kids were in the other room and I know it was not them. They were looking at T.V. And besides that, I have seen and heard some really strange things that I can't seem to identify and shake.. All my life it has been like this.. I know that I saw someone and I have felt many times mike someone is watching me. It is a very creepy and eerie feeling to witness!

I haven't really heard any stories about where I live now. Where I went to college in Southeast Colorado, there were several places that were rumored. Two of them actually made it into an anthology of "real" ghost stories called America's Most Haunted or something to that effect. It has listings of hauntings from all over the country and the stories behind why they are haunted.
My ex-idiot lives in Austin, Texas and the dorm he stayed in when he was at St. Edward's University, Premont Hall, is listed on some kind of registry for haunted places in Texas. Of course, he neglected to tell me this before I spent a week there with him (shhhh, it was an all-boys dorm, I wasn't supposed to be there after 10 hehe). I didn't find out until several months later. I didn't see or hear anything unusual but it still would have been more fun to know.

Hi DarthJustice i hope i could visit in that building since I have this "gift" that I can feel other creations in the other dimensions. Believe me or not, I can feel that there's somebody else roaming around looking for something that needs to be fulfilled that they missed to fulfill. Generally, my parents dont want me to develop this because its not good. Its just that, if can go to places that is considered as haunted, I can feel theres somebody else in the area. Though I can see it but i can feel it. It depends on the feeling. The lighter feeling means, its ok to roam or to create noise and laughing. However, if I felt kind of heavy then its gonna be something scary and on the dark side.

In Oxford, Ohio (near where I live), there is a dark, lonely road where a "ghost light" appears if you stop and flash your lights. This has been a legend for as long as I can remember and I've seen it dozens of times through the years. The one time that convinced me it was real was when we drove by the driveway where the light starts, and it began to follow us!! Then , POOF! gone...
If by any chance you are interested in seeing it, you can find plenty of hits on you tube - though none are as clear as the light following you, the light appears all the same.
I know a lot of people have trouble believing in this sort of thing, but I have a sneaking suspicion that more people DO believe

We have a church that has a well documented sighting of a ghost that is in a rural area just outside of the city where I live and the local theatre is reported to be haunted but I don't know how well documented this is. I myself have never actually seen a ghost but think there is the possibility they exist.

I live in Victoria, Canada. We have a history downtown where in the old days we had a lot of chinese immigrants that were "employed" to do business in the early days of the city. It turns out that the immigrants had opium dens in the basements and catacombs of the city. You can actually go on tours of the dens and see some of the instruments that were used to persuade the chinese to work that much harder. It is brutal and grotesque and they say that the rooms are haunted by those who weren't so lucky. also many of the now office spaces that we use were ate one time brothels. Some of them still are. Victoria has quite the history, brutal as it is. Saltspring Island where I grew up is used by the native Indians here to dump their evil spirits. How's that for freaky?

I have lived and worked in several haunted places in my home town of Stearns Ky. Stearns is an old coal mining town that was ran by the stearns coal and lumber company. My mom and aunt have a gift shop in the railway depot, that was remodeled to look just like it did at the height of the coal mining days. My family also owns a motel in the same town, only a block away..... I have heard and experienced many strange things there as well. 2 of my friends have experience many of the same things and many of their own experiences. I have been interested in the paranormal for many years, as I have had these experiences since I was 5 years old. I have wanted to join an paranormal research group or "ghost hunters" near by, but have not actually been contacted back. I have sent emails to many, but no one has even emailed me back to say, sorry but we are not currently recruiting. If anyone knows of one in my area that would like some help, please let me know.... Send a message to my profile or something.

I live in Grand Rapids, MI and about 15 minutes away in Ada there is said to be a ghost called the "Ada Witch". She haunts the Ada Cemetery. She is usually seen alone, but some people say they just hear screams. She was said to be killed by her husband after he suspected her to be having an affair.
