Usually, I will. Sometimes I am disappointed at how far from the story the movie will drift. I can, therefore, understand why people might not wish to see a movie made from a book they really liked.

I did this with the Harry Potter Books and movies. I enjoyed the movies alot but they had to leave so much out of the movie so it wouldn't be so long. I enjoy reading the books then watching the movie. I like to pick out the differences and changes they made to the movie from the book.

Hi, ersmommy1.
I do like to see movies after I have read a book. I've done this with many. I can't think of a single instance that I liked the movie better than the book.

I usuall6y find the book to be better as well. If it's a book I really enjoyed, I also enjoy seeing the movie and finding out if the way i visualized the characters is how they turned out in the movie.
I used to think reading the book spoiled the movie, now I'm more intrigued by the process.

I think it all depends. There are thousands of movies based on books, but I didn't read the book. I think I'd usually only read the book if the movie really moved me. Like I read the book The Green Mile after watching that movie. There were parts of the movie I liked better, and parts of the book I liked better. The books usually go into a lot more detail, but when the movie leaves something out completely, it's hard to get your head around the book if you've seen the movie first.
I also started reading the Harry Potter books after seeing the first movie. I read the last 4 books before seeing the movies (2 of the movies still aren't out yet, so that's 2 books I read before the movie). Although I love seeing the movie, the book had a lot more detail which the movie left out. I think some of the details were important or interesting and should have been left in the movie. I'd love to see a movie that is exactly like the book without any difference.

I never have the time to read any books. I always see the movie first. I would rather watch the movie because I never have the time to read.

I've read quite a few books that have been turned into movies, and I think I've preferred the book every time. Normally I've read the book first, the only time I haven't done this was with the Lord of the Rings series. I never thought it would interest me, so hadn't bothered with it until someone made me watch the first movie. I got hooked, read the books and thought they were amazing.
The only thing that annoys me about making books into movies is when vital parts of the story are omitted, or new parts added in that aren't even in the book.

For meit really depends on which i do first. If i read the book first most often than not the book will be better, and vice versa. But if a movie should come out based on a movies ive already watch im usually realy eager to watch it.

I have to say that I enjoy the books better. Somehow, they get the characters different from the book or they change the story. I find it infuriating. Waht was the Daniel Brown's book that was made into a movie? Cannot remember the title. anyway, I went to see the movie with a friend who found the movie incomprehensible so I had to tell her the story afterwards. I find that books are much better than the movies. In fact, if I have read the book, I now do not bother to go to the movie. Blessings!

I read the book & also watch the movies based on them, but I also feel like you that books are much much better. I can give you the example of this as Harry Potter series. The books were so good, but movies despite of being good could not cover all the aspects of books. Of course, the movie will be much lenghty of it mimicks the whole book, but that's why I like reading books more than seeing movies based on them.

I have done this on occasion. Harry Potter being one. Also, The Count of Monte Cristo. When I read the later I realized that when making a movie they only have a limited amount of time to tell you the story. Of course things are going to be different. So, I now don't compare. I see the movie as a movie and the book as a book.

to be honest, i find the movie awful. For example, this happends to me with Harry Potter. I just love those books. But the movies...is such a big difference between what you imagine and what they can realize in a movie. I mean, the world i created in my mind while reading the book , was more interesting and most of all, it was the first. And then, i saw a movie and everything my mind created was just changed. So, my mind was confused. It`s like this situation: u love a man but u have no relationship with him so, everything is perfect. But one day, u and the man became closer, u move toghether, u discover that he has plenty of deficiency and it sucks. So...things were beautiful and great only when u imagined that relationship.
