I was really looking forward to settling down in front on the tv tonight to watch my favourite program at the moment 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here' only to find the bloomin' football is on instead. I have been looking forward to this program being back on our tv in England for ages, it's only been on for 3 days and it has to make way for the footy! Why couldn't the football make way for my program? Has this ever happened to you?

I hear you my friend, seems everything stops for football whether you like it or not, this really frustrates me, probably more so as I hate football with a passion and annoyed that Corrie has been cancelled, although Emmerdale was still scheduled which is the better soap of the two. Not everyone likes football but it seems that we have no choice in the matter and it's another opportunity, not that father needs one to drink. When I get my own place football will be banned! No one is allowed to watch football LOL! Why can't they put football on Channel 5 instead so that those who don't like football can continue to enjoy the programs without having them cancelled!

Hi there wolfie34 I couldn't agree with you more. I have no interest in football at all but I think it has something to do with money as to why our programs get booted off and replaced with the footy, it is so darn irritating! Thanks wolfie

Hi Scoop, I thought about phoning my dad last night whilst England and Germany playing but thought better off it. When Arsenal were playing a few weeks ago I phoned him and he said I should know better than to phone him whilst the football was on LOL. From someone that loved the game having it 24/7 almost as a child I am totally put off of it now. Huggles. Ellie :D

Because thats football The most popular game in whole world. Even cricket comes at number two when it comes to football. And obviously the channels would show what more viewers will see. Thats why your program had to make way for the football. Sometimes i missed my favorite programs too because of cricket And it surely feels frustrating.

Years ago, I always complained the football thing just interupted my favoritate TV show! Since I went to the University, I almost didn't watch TV anymore! For one thing, we don't have so much time to concentrate on the shows. As well as this, I guess the computers diverse our attentions! Take care!

Hi ya hiddenwing I don't watch tv much either, in fact that is the only program I am watching at the moment and I come off my computer of a night time to go and watch it with my full attention! Thanks for your response

I have not really been as into it much this time, I think that it is old hat now and all a bit samey. I watched it the first night and I have not seen it since, so it did not bother me too much that it was not on last night. But yes I have had my programmes pushed to one side all for the sake of football and it is really annoying, I hate the game.

Hi ya gemini_rose It has spiced up a little bit because they have two more celebrity guest turn up and they are not settling in too well and are stirring the group up somewhat! Thanks for responding

I for one am happy that Football is on now on Thursday Nights. It started last week. However I still have other shows that I would like to watch so I throw them on the DVR and watch them after or the following day. I love football cause I'm a huge gambler and I enjoy the game. The football would and will never take backseat to other programs as the money that the game brings in and of course the NFL fans out there would be complaining about it and this is how it has always been. So we are just going to have to live with it.

Its still on on ITV2 at 10pm, not the same I know. Football always pushes things off the telly, like Corry st and Emmderdale etc. Its BAD that they do it.

Hi Anne18 Thanks for letting me know that. I have been able to jump in the shower and give you my comment to your response before I can get my celeb fix. I know it won't be Ant and Dec but hey nevermind, they are probably off playing golf anyway. They haven't been able to play for a few days have they because of the rain hahaha Thanks Anne18 your a star

I know how you feel. I get so annoyed when stuff like that happens. I do like that show too, but I haven't seen it since the first season. I don't think that it is going to come back here to the U.S.

Hi there Kmarie923 We used to have Survivor here in the UK too which I really loved but it only lasted 2 season but I know it is really popular in the US. I wish it would come back. Thanks for your response

Hi humbug. Yes it has. I hate that when I'm waiting for a certain show to come on and then to find out there is a game or something like the president talking or something like that. Then you have to wait until the next week to see your show. That's agrivating LOL.

I enjoy watching American football, so I can't really throw stones there. However, the baseball season here is REALLY long. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind watching the OCCASIONAL baseball game. But every night gets a bit much, in my opinion. Whether we like it or not, sports are a HUGE business, and stations will preempt other programming in order to show sports. I don't know about other countries, but I know here in the US companies actually take each other to court and try to get regulations passed to get the rights to sporting events. With that kind of ferocity involved, it's no wonder that sports dominate the airwaves!!! All I can say is, thank goodness for my DVR!!! If my show gets aired at a different time when I am asleep, or my husband wants to watch yet ANOTHER baseball game, I can still record my program and watch it later, which is better than never. :)

Hi there Paula1966 I lived out in the US for a short while and myself enjoyed a couple of baseball games but I don't think I could have watched a whole season!! I have heard of this DVR from another mylotter and I think we have something simular here in the UK but it is not something I have looked into as yet! Thanks for your response
