I've had 2 surgeries. One to have my tosils removed when I was younger. And another 3 months ago - I had a c-section with my daughter.

I am definitely afraid of having surgery. Fortunately I have not had the need for surgery but I know it is a strong possibility at some point in my life, especially knowing my mom needs surgery on her knees and my dad has had some surgeries as well. I hope that they make sure that I am knocked out before they perform surgery on me. :-)

Any kind of surgery would scare me and wish you the best with yours and hope that you make out well. I would be a nervous wreck too. I would be scared that when they try to put me to sleep, I will still be awake when they perform the surgery. Good luck and hope all goes well.

Any type of surgery would scare me. You always have a chance of something going wrong, so that in itself scares me. But, if I truly needed it I would still have it done.

I've had surgery a few times in my life, and there's really nothing to be afraid of. The worst one I had was my c-section, but that was almost 25 years ago, and I'm sure the techniques have improved a lot since then. I had LASIK surgery in September, and that did make me nervous since it was risking my eyes, but everything came out fine. Surgery is nothing to worry about today.

Whoa this one was started 9 months ago, I'll answer it anyways LOL
I am always scared to have surgery, the thought of doctors plodding and picking and cutting at my body scares me LOL I have had surgery on my archilles tendon which I tore playing sports, that wasn't so bad, its when I had surgery for a perineal tear (yuck) when I had my son, that really got me LOL made me not want to have any more children haha!
I was almost coaxed into having lower back surgery for a herniated disc early this year but i chose not to go that route and found other means of non surgical treatment i.e physio. These days doctors are so quick to offer surgery instead of other means to fix the problem. Glad I didnt' have surgery as I hear it sometimes makes the issue worse.

My supervisor says that about her slipped disc in her back. She wont have surgery because it will make the problem worse.I had surgery last week for a hernia on my stomach.I made it through. The first 2 days after was a mess but now i have recovered well.It wasn't so bad.

Awww hope you are feeling better!! Sorry to hear that. Some procedures and recovery time are quite quick, others take longer and it sounds like yours was ok. Glad to hear you are doing well :)

Not so much. I've only had a minor outpatient operation. Because it wasn't in a critical area and anesthesia is so expensive, I opted out of it; and any topical or local anesthetic just wasn't effective, due to the nature of the wound. I can tell you, it was worse than being in labor for two days. But I'm glad it's done and hopefully I won't need major surgery until many years from now.
Blessed Be
