The theory that the world will end in 2012 comes from the fact that the Ancient Aztec/Mayan calendar, which goes on for CENTURIES ends in December of 2012. My theory is this, it had to end eventually. Just like the whole Y2K scare, I highly doubt the world will end in 2012. It didn't end when the computers "thought" that the first two numbers in everything went back to 19 instead of rolling over. I don't think the world will end because some ancient calendar happens to finally end.
