if you say expensive how much is it?do you buy it in kilo or by piece?apples here in the philippines can go as cheap as .10cents per piece depending on the kind and quality...and mangoes here are sold per kilo like $1.50 or higher depending on the quality.

Prices vary according to availability. I have not even seen mangoes in our local store since the summer. At that time the price ranged from 3 for a dollar to nearly a dollar each. Apples are considered a fall through winter fruit. They are on sale now at the big supermarket for 99 cents per pound. I had bought a 3 pound bag of Fuji apples at the military commissary for $2.39. That's about 80 cents per pound. Since there is just my husband and me, I usually buy just one or two pieces of fruit at a time. I bought the bag of apples because we're expecting our son and his family for an overnight stay soon. The one fruit that remains fairly inexpensive at our local grocery store is bananas at 3 pounds for a dollar, up this fall from the former price of 25 cents per pound. Even oranges have gotten expensive and they are grown in the southernmost part of our state.

I like mangoes very much. Bt it is not available here in all seasons, though it is locally avilable to my climate. It is avilable from later part of March to July, say for about four months! But apple is avilable in all seasons here, though it is not produced at my place locally. So in absence of mangoes, apples are my prime choice. Thanks and have nice myLot responses!

I have to agree with you, we are blessed with mangoes here. I am also an apple fan, but I only like apple when it is crunchy. Mango on the other hand is something I like in whatever state (except when it is stale and spoil).

even my kids love mangoes compared to apple..when they see sliced mangoes they go gaga and cry over it because they wanna munch it and eat it...when i tried to give them slices of apple they just threw it away..what a waste...they say it is sappy.

I'm a Filipino, and mangoes are quite abundant in this side of the world. May it be sweet or sour, name it you'll have it. Apples are also famous in here, though we don't have trees, or perhaps there are a few, haven't seen them though. I'd say that I'd go for mangoes, I mean they are sweet, they smell good and they are indeed heavenly. Apples are also delicious, but nothing beats mangoes...that's according to my taste buds though^^Happy mylotting^^

Absolutely I am for Mango dear! It is the most delicious fruit for me. Apples especially those bought in our country are dangerous because most of them have been treated with formalin so we have to be very careful when buying. Mangoes on the other hand especially the real sweet ones taste divine. I love mangoes more than any other fruits in the world.

I like apples better. The mangoes have a sqaush concistancy that I don't care for. I can eat the mango in a smoothy or something like that but not by itself. It is too rich flavored for me!

Hi ya andak2007
I too prefer mangoes to apples but in this country it is the opposite and they are very expensive here and apples can be really cheap as we grow alot of apples in England but it is not hot enough to grow mangoes so we have to import them which makes them really expensive!

An apple a day keeps the doctor away but a mango a day keeps the doctor busy finding solution. So prefer to stay at home or running to Doctors clinic all the way.

I like both mango and apple, but I'll prefer eating apple, as it's much healthier. Eating too much mangoes may get stomachache. There's a mango tree planted in front of my house, so we always have many mangoes to eat during the season since we were young.

Both fruits are very good and very healthy for you. I try to eat apple at least once every 2 days. I eat mango very rarely. I think I like Mango better than apple but apples are very good for you. Like the saying says, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away".
