Let's Give Mylot Newbies a Break!

I sometimes see new mylot members putting links to their posts. I am sure that they did that without intending to spam anyone. After all, newbies are not yet familiar with the hard and fast rules here.
Instead of giving them a negative rating or posting a nasty comment on their discussion, why not give them a gentle warning to let them know that it is a no-no to post links in discussions?
I am saying these because I was once a newbie myself. And I didn't know that posting links is prohibited in mylot discussions. I made the same mistake when I made a blog and excitedly shared it in my posts here.
I would have been grateful if only someone pointed it out nicely to me. Instead, I suddenly find my earnings diminished and my star rating dropped from 9 to 8.
At first I didn't know why. Then I chanced upon a discussion where someone told a newbie about the mylot rule. I would have appreciated that in my case too! As it was, some members simply chose to rate me badly :(
Now, when I see new members' putting links in their discussion, I try to take it with a grain of salt and tell them nicely about it.
I hope we can all be generous here by helping others to earn too.

It is true that our newbies co member here in mylot posting without reading first the rules. Even when I am new here I also did the same thing so I always complain why should it happen. I really did a hard work to post to keep my earnings up. But sometime because I forgot all the guidelines I took a missed and the result was diminishing of my labor. Lets give them a break too... Have a nice day friend!

Thank you for posting this, I really appreciate it. I have been guilty of this in the recent past as well. I will definitely follow this rule from now on.
Following the rules of a site is extremely important, but sometimes the terms and conditions of a site are very difficult to find or just too long and daunting to read.
I think I did try to find an answer on this question, but obviously I didn't look hard enough.
