dogs bark when they see new people why are they bark?

My dog doesn't really bark at all new people she sees, she only barks at certain people. It seems like she is applying some judgment and she only barks at suspicious people.

Every dog have its own territory in their mind,when a stanger get closer,they will bark ,I think they just warn the new comer.

they are figureing out dominince and where the new person fits in the pack. Dogs are pack animals and must figure out heirarchy. its how they keep order in their minds.
