how do you react to people who keeps on whining?

I know someone who complains a lot about this and that. I ended up avoiding her as being around her just brings my spirits down. There is no point in telling her that whining all the time isn't a good thing to do because then she'll be complaining about me too.

Hi there chellymarz! I do work with people who keep complaining. They complain about almost anything and everything under the sun. Sometimes I do not know whether their complaints are baseless and are just overreacting on certain issues. When they talk to me about their complaints and these are issues that are trivial, I just tell them not to think much about such issues as they are trivial matters. Most of the time, what they actually whine about are trivial issues.

I would ignore them. and I would try to tell them the good things in life and how they can make them better. I will make the positive seen better than what they don't have.. I will do a lot of encouraging, that is for sure!

For me it's okay to whine for a while just to relieve your stress but then after whining, you should think of ways on how to address your problem. I hate people who'll complain and complain but won't do anything about it. For me, we can only complain if we know we give our best shot to it. Whenever I hear someone complaining, be it my friend or not, I would always tell the, "so what did you do?" when they said nothing, I will just answered with "why are you complaining then?". I know could get into troubles because of this but I am not the kind if person who's always complaining. I am trying my best to do all my work on my own capacity and I am not always asking for someone's help that's why I hate those people who complain because no one is helping them. Life is never fair so it is our job to make it easier for us and complaining doesn't work so much for it.

The Bible says in Philippians 4: 6:" Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." Obviously the Lord would not want us to worry and complain for things that happen in our life but rather to pray and ask God's grace and supplication. So when I meet complaining person I always try to introduce him to God and His word so that she will learn how to trust God and gain wisdom on how to face problems in life. Like what you said we should always cast our cares upon the Lord for He will give us rest. Only a person who believe in God knows how to trust in the promises of God.

Well, usually people whine and complain when they are not contented with what they have. They are those who don't count their blessings. But sometimes they can't help it. There may be circumstances and experiences in the past that made them that way, so I don't judge them. But I try to make them see the positive side of things. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don't. Well, that's life.

i try to listen and help out with advice if i can but if they wont listen or do anything about the situation then i try to get them to realize they are whining.. but i really will listen for a long time on it because i know some times you just need to vent
