I am not quite sure the difference between these two products. It seems that cologne is for men and perfume is for women. Besides it, I have no idea about them.

There are colognes made for women too... like the Victoria's Secret brand... i think the main difference is that... the smell of the cologne will easily disappear... but the perfume will stay for a longer period of time... sometimes even the whole day... I don't really fancy any of the two... but i prefer the cologne...

I think cologne is less concentrated and cheaper and is normally in bigger bottles while perfume is very concentrated and expensive. The smell stays longer than cologne.

Perfume is "a substance that emits and diffuses a fragrant odor, especially a volatile liquid distilled from flowers or prepared synthetically." And cologne is a diluted perfume. Most of the time perfume is for women and cologne is for men.

I am guessing it also has to do with the ingredients as well. Cologne is more musky in nature compared to perfumes. The strength of cologne is also much weaker as compared to women's perfumes. Other than that to add to your observation, I do not know of any other. Maybe you can compile a list from your discussion and then try to post another thread showing the quality difference between the two!

I am not sure what's the difference, but I guess cologne is supposed to be stronger than the perfume. But I have to admit that some cologne really smells better than the perfumes.

But some Mylotters above said that perfume can have a long-lasting smell than the cologne.

Hello youless. It is the same with me that I only know that cologne is for men while perfume is women. It seems that cologne is from Paris. Besides this, I have no more idea about it. But I never use any similar products like cologne.
