Hi, There are times when your mother-in-law may trouble you.. Things may not work if you talk ill about her to your partner.. So how do you tackle the situation when your partner stands by his mother...
My mother-in-law hates someone entering her kitchen.. She wants to be cooking until she is alive.. So she doesnt allow me to cook anything other than making coffee.. If i raise it, my husband says, if you want something different, we can eat out...
I just love cooking and this is really a pain for me.. How do I tackle this situation? Please provide me your suggestions and your experiences too.. experiences..

I am fortunate enough to have a sweet husband who doesn't like his mother and takes my side on arguments. I guess if your husband isn't allowing a conversation on the subject of cooking in your house (I'm assuming you live with your mother-in-law), then you can't do anything at this point. You could try talking to your MIL and asking if maybe you could do the cooking a couple of times a week or something, but be warned that nothing positive may come out of that conversation.

I would say you are blessed and lucky.. I have already tried talking to her, but she is very stubborn as she herself got the opportunity of cooking only at the age of 40 (till then her mother-in-law was only cooking for her), lol.. So she has told me that i can cook when she is not able to, maybe when she becomes too old..
So no point in talking to these people... I enjoy cooking whenever I go on a vacation to see my mom at my mom's place..
