Does it really matter?

What is better on a car? A tire that is round and out of balance or a tire that is oval but perfectly balanced? Why?

hmmmm, I would have to say that a tire that is round and out of balance would have to be better, if I have to choose. My thought process is that a round tire that is out of balance would cause less damage then an oval tire that is balanced. If the oval tire is balanced with the other tire then you are still going to have the overall damage to the car from the effects of the shape of the oval tire. So even though it is balanced it would still cause problems. A tire that is round and out of balance is also going to cause damage to the car but less of an impact to the car then an oval tire. Not to mention I wouldn't want to be the person driving or riding in the oval tire car....lol

Yeah but couldn't you balance the round tire to make it good? What could you do with the oval tire?

Yes but I was asked to choose whether one or the other mattered. And I believe that I did pick the unbalanced, round tire as the better of the two. So yep the obvious answer is to balance the round tire to fix the problem. But between the two in the condition described the round tire is the choice.
