Do you remember when facebook was called thefacebook?

I didn't know it was called thefacebook, and I don't know why they named it "Facebook" too. I just joined Facebook a year ago. It seems like Facebook has become really popular. Some of my friends even use the word "fb-ing", I was confused when I read this word in the first place.

I remember when it was called "thefacebook". I can even remember back in the day when the site was solely for college students too.

Hi Banksey. Welcome to mylot. I don't understand facebook. My daughter just joined there and sent me an invitation to join. I looked at it and didn't see anything that interested me. I guess I just don't get it and why so many people use it. I must be missing something. I thought it was like myspace where you can decorate your page etc. but I didn't see any way to do that. It looked boring to me, or am I missing something?

I absolutely love facebook as it provides the perfect way for me to keep in touch with all my friends. However never remember them being called thefacebook previously. I only joined about a year or so ago so perhaps I joined just as it was changing names. Find this site brilliant for interacting with others though and have found so many old friends I had previously lost touch with on there. Anyone who doesn't use this site really should.
