Do you get annoyed by the buzz?

I hate it when somebody buzzes then he or she types "hello", "hi", or "ctc", and "asl". So whenever I come online on chat, I would disable the alert sounds. I've been a chatter since 1997 and I am kinda old school on chat ethics through microsoft. Heheh, what are those chat rules that you know and kept all these years?

I really hate it also if someone buzzes me. I really get annoyed specially if I set my status to "busy" or "don't disturb" and most of all "on the phone", and someone will IM me and just say "hi" or just buzz me, because I only go online to talk to my husband who is working abroad. There were some instances that I've been frank and tell them "can't you see my status? I'm talking to my husband!!!". I admit that I've only been a year old with this chatting thing but I do know when to send a message and I always look first at a contact's status before sending a message. HUGZ always!!!

I don't like it when somebody buzzes, why can't they just say hello and wait for the reply than to buzz straight away. Some of my chatmates buzzes when I can't type a reply straight away to what they are talking about, they just can't wait. Now, I had to mute my speakers so I couldn't hear them buzzing, but I always tell them off everytime someone buzzes on me while chatting.
