Have Chirstmas carollers visited you already?

As early as November here in our city, carollers would already come visiting the homes of people. Just last night I could hear loud voices of kids singing away the happy Christmas songs, even though its a little off tune. They didn't reach our house last night, though.
I have always loved Christmas so I don't mind the premature serenades. I was used to even having them earlier than November when I was younger. I could remember preparing some coins for the kids so whenever some group would come and sing we would have no trouble looking for something to give. My mother's friend isn't so excited as I. She told my mom that whenever someone would sing carols for them she cuts them off and tells them to come back on christmas day.
It's just sad that sometimes they do a very, very bad job of it. I don't mean the tones and pitches of the songs, but when the kids sing they tend to laugh hysterically in between lyrics as if they're making fun of the season. It ruins the entire Christmassy effect on it. Sometimes, those kids would have an earful from my father because of it, and he makes them sing it again before giving any treats.
How about you? Have you been carolled as early as now? Do you get excited whenever you hear them sing?

No,actually,Christmas carollers have never visited me so far.
Which country are you from?America?
I have always loved Christmas Day,so I don't mind the early coming of carollers.
After all, they bring us a happy atmosphere of Christmas in advance.
No doubt,I think I will get excited when I hear them sing.
Happy Christmas to you ahead of time!

There are many people that used to go house to house singing Christmas songs for the neighbors etc. They'd knock on the door then when the door opened they would start singing. Now days with the world as it is this is not as common as when I was a child back in the 60's. I used to go with a group of frioends etc doing this back then and we earned decent tips and foods like cookies and candy and cakes for singing.

I am from the Philippines and it has become a tradition here for carollers to go around from house to house and sing for them. I like it a lot when the ones who'd knock have really prepared their songs and really practiced their singing. It brings tears to my eyes sometimes, especially when they sing the mellow ones. =)
It is good to have carollers and I wish you would have choral visitors soon! Thanks for posting. =)

Last year, Christmas was very early but this time, i see no kids yet doing the caroling. I loved listenning to them too. Actually, i am waiting for them to come, same as you, i loved the childrens more than the adult. I really laugh when they come back and forth asking again and again singing. Happy posting

I've lived in my house here for 5 years and have yet to have carolers at my doorstep. I do go to the nearby shopping mall when they have the school kids doing a Chrsitmas song show. I love hearing the little ones sing. I did have the neighbor that moved recently show up one year with gifts for my wife and I and her and her kids sang Jingle Bells. That's the only ones ever really.

That's really sweet of them. I've never had neighbors sing Christmas songs for us. The ones that come visiting us are mostly strangers. I love listening to kids chirpy voices, too, that is if they get serious about it and not laugh on every other line of the song.
Thanks for posting! =)
