Routing your home.

Well I am having a lot of problems with routing my home. This is the first time I tried to do this. First I had a problem with having different OS in each PC. Now I am having a problem with keeping the internet connection on the main PC. So that the second PC will revive the signal. I have been trying for two days to get it right and the cable provided cant help me because they cant speak on the software I am using. So non of my friends know how or dont have the time to help me. So basically I am screwed. I am running the router now and the internet is working fine. The router is a Linksys G and I have a G PCI card in the other. I am running XP now on both PCS but only one is service pack 3. Does anyone know if that could be the problem? But anyway i am not stupid when it comes to the computer this is my first time with this. So if anyone can help a brother out i would appericate it.
