Do your dogs like to go out when it's raining?

My dog really likes to go out in the rain. Every time when it's raining, she likes to go and let the rain drops on her. She likes to play with water too. Sometimes, By the way, she's a Labrador. I understand Labrador likes water, but I'm just afraid she will get sick by this. How about your dogs? Do they like to play with water? Or always go out during raining days?

Hi shonali, thanks for your response. Really? I have read that it's the nature of labradors that they like water. I thought that's why my dog likes to go out in the rain.

Yes, they like rain. When the rain comes here our dogs don't care if they will get wet they playing outside the house, and run and run until they got tired. But some of my dogs don't like water lol. Sometimes they are weird.

Nope, we don't bathe her everyday, we do it once a week. It's actually quite time consuming to bathe her, coz she likes to play with water, every time when she's taking shower, my husband will get all wet. You mean taking shower everyday will cause the dogs get sick? Yeah, I feel sad when my dog is sick, it's just your kid is sick...

Hi 333tangtang, thanks for your response. Yeah, sometimes I do worry if she'll get sick or not, but she really enjoys herself in the rain. My dog gets dirty very easily, coz she'll just go anywhere, even muddy places.

My dog is a retriever/boxer mix and she absolutely will not go out in the rain. She thinks she wants to go out, then when I open the door and she sees/hears the rain she just walks away. One of these days she's going to have an accident in the house because she wont go out in the rain.

Hi reinydawn, thanks for your response. It's sad to hear that your dog has an accident. I always tried to prevent my dog from running out of my house, coz she may not know how to watch out for cars.

nope..my dogs like to whine and whine and insist that they want out..then stand at the open doorway and just watch the rain. they will "hold it" for quite a while until the rain stops, or at least is barely a sprinkle, before they finally decide that they really need to use the bathroom lol! if they are outback and it starts raining on them..they come tearing in the house like they were being chased by demons! i very much doubt if your Lab will get sick due to playing in the water! Labs LOVE water and they have a pretty thick coat..they would have to be soaking in a pool or pond for a little bit before their undercoat gets wet. with just some average rainfall..i doubt if the skin on their torso even gets wet.

Hi CinderInMySoul, thanks for your response. Your dogs are so cute... it must be fun wathing them while it's raining. I like to see their cute face expressions. Perhaps they won't get sick due to the rain. I shouldn't view her in the point from a human being, right? Sometimes I just feel pitiful when she's all wet.

No rain or water wont hurt as long as they arent being left in the freezing cold for hours and hours. Our dog doesnt like the rain though he wont go outside if its raining and will wait for toileting until its stopped he certainly wont go for a walk in it!

We haven't got any dogs in our house, we have two cats, one doesn't mind the rain and one hates the rain. Back to dogs when I was a child we had a dog and he didn't mind the rain but hated it idf it rained cats and dogs, but a little rain to medium rain then he didn't mind.

I have Small dogs and i find that they go out in the rain too. I also worry that they will get sick because they are so small. They never seem to get sick though so i just let them do as they want now.

Not only does our dog NOT like rain, she doesn't like snow. When it rains Chanel will go out if I hold an umbrella and go along with her. During any snow, which thankfully we get little, unless I shovel a patch of grass for her, she won't go out. On either of these kind of days I usually put a doggy training pad down just in case my timing isn't in synch with her needs.

My two dogs hate the rain. they hate the cold period. I have to make them go out in it to go to the bathroom. even if it means me getting wet.
