Yes I agreed with you. With reading we can improve not only our english but our knowledge. Like detective novels, we can learn how a detective make their investigation. Books like Harry Potter will bring us to the world of fantasies. Well, almost all reading sources can improve our knowledge about something.

I prefer to read fiction, and my current addiction is paranormal romance novels. If you are not familiar with the genre, they are romance novels with elements of the supernatural. You get characters like vampires, demons, werewolves, fairies, etc.
You'll be surprise at the different worlds the various authors have created, and for me, its the best way to escape reality for a few hours, everytime I pick one to read.

I don't prefer romance novels but I prefer paranormal novels. This is because I've been exposed to the world of paranormal. Ever since I was 12 years old, my dad bring me along if there are cases of paranormal. He said he want to train me to be able to protect myself.

My favorite books to read right now is self-developmental books,I am a great fan of Dr.Leo Buscaglia, an American psychologist who published numerous books about self-improvement and spiritual journey. I loved biographical books also, especially about British royal family and the late Princess of Wales, Diana.
When I was in college I used to read novels by Sidney Sheldon and some sweet stories from Mills and Boon, but now I already outgrow them and choose something educational and interesting. I also loved reading books of Bo Sanchez, a Filipino catholic preacher who published the widely read inspirational magazine-Kerygma.

Sorry for the late comment. I don't have much time to surf the net at my school.
It seems that you have a wide variety of reading books. For me, I don't really likes to read novel. Unless the novel have some connection with my study, then I'll read it. Time also is a factor why I less read novel. As I'm getting nearer to my exam (most important exam), I have less time to read novel because I must concentrate to pass my exam with flying colours.

I like to read. I don`t spend so much time reading now, but when i was a teenager, i used to read all day long. My favourite genre is adventure but i read anything. My favourites are Karl May, Hernann Hesse, Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe, Mark Twain, Albert Camus..and much more. And i`m happy because i was born in a period when reading was still something usefull, because i can see around me that people are reading less and less.

Oh, I see. I enjoy reading Snoopy and Charlie Brown too. I usually read them in my local newspapers. They have interesting stories to me..
In my school, I always read book about Sherlock Holmes, the famous detective novel written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
