RPM Problems

I have an '89 coupe with auto trans. 148000 miles mostly stock. Has dual cats with 2 and a half inch pipe all the way back. New plugs wires cap rotor coil in-line fuel pump trans service etc. Engine runs and idle's great, but it will not rev past 3500. any sugestions?
